Another day, another long awkward silence?
Journeyman Geek
better than awkward noises
@AndyD273 that's the core plot of altered carbon
AndyD273
@JourneymanGeek Yeah, I corrected myself just slightly after that
Journeyman Geek
oops
AndyD273
It's ok. GitS does have wandering ghosts IIRC, but body transfer is mostly done by moving a cyberbrain to a new shell. AC is definitely a lot closer to what I was thinking, just took me a few minutes to remember it
James
2:25 PM
Never saw it...worth the watch?
Journeyman Geek
@James its pretty good
so's the book - the series tightens things up a
lot
AndyD273
Yeah. They did a pretty good job adapting it.
Mature content warning. There is a 5 minute battle where a cop fights the same naked woman 12 times.
It's a lady cop, so it's not sexist.
Journeyman Geek
also utterly badass.
Her mom's probably the best part of the show ;p
James
@AndyD273 I'm pretty sure that's not how that works.
AndyD273
@James Who can tell? The rules change from day to day. Does it help if the naked lady is a crazy, evil, criminal mastermind that does sex trafficking?
Also, I guess mature content warning for John Wick levels of violence.
James
2:38 PM
@AndyD273 I think it boils down to is the nakedness relevant to the story or just for the enjoyment of teen-agers?
Journeyman Geek
@James well they're clones
James
You know what...nevermind. This conversation is not going anywhere good lol
AndyD273
@James Oh, it's probably relevant.
Journeyman Geek
Its relevant
and makes sense considering the setting
AndyD273
It's pretty good. The zero G knife fight was pretty good too
It's worth checking out
2 hours later…

@James Something to add to your christmas wish list:
MorpHex + Portal Turret Voice
►
James
@NexTerren Yo
They are releasing an Eberron book for 5e. Might be up your alley.
They are introducing an Artificer class, basically a technomancer.
AndyD273
5:02 PM
@James Does D&D have technology?
I mean, a water wheel is technology, I guess... But not the kind you can do that much intrestering with
Though I suppose if you made the enemy catapults fall apart and release all the tension, injuring or killing the crew, that could be interesting
James
5:41 PM
@AndyD273 It's pretty limited to medieval level tech though there are a smattering of random items in the core system.
Eberron on the other hand has trains and automatons. I haven't played Eberron before but I think it has a steampunk feel, a fusion of tech and magic
AndyD273
6:27 PM
Interesting
2 hours later…
AndyD273
8:57 PM
So working my way through The Boys, and while it's not bad, it mostly makes me want a good adaptation of
Steelheart
...
1 hour later…
Nex Terren
9:59 PM
@AndyD273 Try D&D Ultramodern
@James Sadly I only have time for one tabletop, and it isn't 5e...
