@FoxElemental Do we have specific rules against inappropriate usernames?
hey there @Gryphon and @DestructibleLemon
@Shalvenay Hello
how're things going?
02:30
Not too bad.
OK here
hey there @FreezePhoenix, how're things going?
Good. Mobile sucks.
yeah, mobile is limiting :P
No just the autocorrect is enough to kill a person.
02:36
@FreezePhoenix Don't you mean kilt a parson?
Not funny. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
@FreezePhoenix Don't you mean Note fun. :):):)?
πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ πŸŒŽπŸŒ‹
@FreezePhoenix So you're going to incinerate the planet on christmas?
That's a volcano not a party hat.
πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯🌎
02:40
@FreezePhoenix Oh, it looked like a christmas hat.
@FreezePhoenix So when exactly are you incinerating the planet exactly?
Pretty soon if you don't stop the autocorrect jokes.
@FreezePhoenix Note to self, don't piss off people who frequent sites with a large number of questions about how to destroy the planet.
2
@FreezePhoenix Also, don't you mean: Potty son if you do cease the automatically corrected amusing statements? (last one, I promise).
@Gryphon Don't piss off embodied flame.
@Gryphon that's better.
@FreezePhoenix Especially embodied freezing flame.
02:55
@FreezePhoenix And extra especially embodied freezing flame that has access to this question
No I'd just move it into the star behind me.
Or convert the center of earth into a black hole, which would have the same mass... And 3000 years later earth is now a earth massed black hole
Former for effectiveness, latter for terror

@FoxElemental Nobody is forcing anyone to comment when reviewing. And those posts you just commented on are over 1.5 years old. Most of the user have never returned or never posted something else on the site so far. With HNQs sometimes something slips through the reviews.
@Gryphon If it's against "Be nice" you can flag a post from the user for moderator attention and explain what problem you see with the name. Similar things apply to seeing things in the profile that are not nice.

A: Reporting an inappropriate or offensive user name

OdedFlag a question/answer/comment by such a user for moderator attention as "Other". Explain you are flagging due to their name/avatar/about me section being offensive to you. @MikeNichols It would be nice if you could also create a tag wiki and tag wiki excerpt for the new tag so that other users can see how the tag should be used.

Hello
Hello.
How are you, @Hosch?
Good.
Fighting a million mosquito bites from the 4th, but it was worth it.
Oh, yeah. They're horrible
I'll process some of my videos and share them sometime (hopefully this weekend).

Q: Mosquito Armageddon

AndyD273I'm going camping in two weeks and I really don't want to get bit up by mosquitoes. So I want to figure out a way to commit total genocide of all mosquitoes in at least a 20 mile (32 KM) area around the campsite. I also want the camping trip to be enjoyable, so nukes, doing a total gamma soak, o...

Also got a rash from (I think) some plant matter on my left wrist.
Oh yes :)

@Hosch I knew you were interested, and I just posted, so:

Q: Designing Venom Glands for an Elephant: Misting

FoxElementalLaugh all you like, you won't be laughing when it sprays you with its jade trunk of death. Info I figured out that I wanted an elephant that sprays poison out of its trunk a while ago (Thank you, @James for that idea.) Now, the poison is a misted poison sprayed through the trunk of the elephan...

@FoxElemental OK, I'll take a look after work.

A: Magic: Reality check of effects of mass-altering magic

Hosch250Actually, your first two effects are wrong. More massive atoms are much larger than small atoms--to the point that small atoms (notably Hydrogen) can simply float through the gaps in more massive atoms. Larger atoms mean that as you add mass to objects by adding mass to their atoms, items would e...

First answer. Any good? Should I provide citations when I get off work, or is it OK as-is?
15:31
@Hosch not bad for a first. Wait for feedback from others. BTW, see the comments underneath? Fancy meeting you in the first answers review queue . . .
@FoxElemental I've taken enough tours that I only do it for the badge now.
I know how SE works. I'll check the help center, just to figure out the on/off topic stuff a little better.
15:51
@Hosch: Do MetaWB instead. There's a lot of debate over stuff outlined in the Help center, on/off-topic, not worldbuliding, etc.
Spend about 45 min on Meta just to learn. It's kinda mind-boggling.
Sometimes I'll spend half an hour just skimming through it
@Hosch250 Looks good

@dot_Sp0T Red alert: 3 days till nomination closure. You said you've started the questionnaire?
(Not to bug)
But I'm bugging you for your own good ;)
@FoxElemental He can still fill it out later. Or not at all. It's just an opportunity for him to present himself. Whether he wants to use it or has the time is up to him.
Correct. Although, it will almost certainly put him at a severe disadvantage.

A: 2018 Moderator Election Q&A - Questionnaire

Marshall TigerusI'm Marshall Tigerus As a moderator, you'll have to deal with some of the worst content on the site, clean up after users, remain patient in the face of conflict, be subjected to abuse without lashing out . . . you get the idea. Often, moderating can be stressful and not a lot of fun. We'r...

They should all now be on one.

Q: Interpreting up- and down- votes in the Question Sandbox

DubukayI’m having a hard time understanding the logic behind the voting on questions in the Sandbox. The only guidance I’ve found for voting on proposed questions is in ArtOfCode’s seminal post here where they recommend using upvotes to denote that a post is ready for the main site. Is this still wha...

Anyone else watching this Brazil Belgium game?
8)
Wow. Good game.
@James Is this that soccer thing I hear about?
Belgium won? Wow.
I find slap stick and prat falls annoying. Not my kind of humor...
@AndyD273 Yeah...but watching someone walk/run into a pole while chasing a vehicle down the street will always be funny.
@HDE226868 The last 15 minutes were nuts.
@James One time a friends kid was running through a crowded area with a lot of potentially breakable things. As she went past I told her to stop running in an off hand way. She looks back at me, sticks out her tongue, and slammed into the wall at speed, then fell on her butt. It still warms my heart.

20:05
That deserves more than the one star I can provide.
I look forward to the next evolution of something google glass, with always recording capability. So many missed opportunities; Babies first steps... That cute thing the pet does but stops just before you can get the camera out... The time that brat slammed into the wall after sticking her tongue out at me...
One time my college roommate tossed a disc (frisbee, colloquially) over past me and, as I was about to catch it, called my name loudly. I woke up a few seconds later on my back, seeing flashing blue, barely making out a staticky voice ask if I needed anything through the sound of his uncontrollable laughter.
He'd timed the "hey, nitsua!" just right to get me to look back and run into a lightpost. But it was one of the blue-light posts on a college campus, and the impact "pressed" the button on the other side to call campus security.

@nitsua60 That's fantastic.
@AndyD273 I know right.
@nitsua60 That's great.
Now if they can just make the product NOT make you look like a sexual predator that would be great.
20:12
@James It just has to be universal. Mutually assured filming.
@James For some reason I read that and had an image of The Predator, shirtless, flexing, shaking water out of his hair (?is that what it is?) in slo-mo while Marvin Gaye plays in the background.
@nitsua60 Rule 34...
I should probably delete that...
@AndyD273 Weirder if you didn't and I deleted mine =)
Was that a naked Predator?
I think it was.
Bahahahahaha
20:17
To be fair, it does a lot of standing around with it's shirt off...
@nitsua60 That I can say with a strait face, "This makes sense," is so weird.
Here we go, this one's better...
less likely to get flagged anyway
There's nothing wrong... with me... hunting you....
20:33
I'm out. Enjoy your weekend all.
20:55
@James You too. And thanks for the vote of confidence in the election thing
21:20
@James What kind of cat (w/ the sonic thing)? Big cat, or domesticated? Cause if it was a big cat . . a sonic weapon lion would be scary. But domestiated? Cute little ripping killer kittens.
Cute little ripping killer kittens with sonic weapons . . . isn't worldbuilding great, y'all?
@Aify I know that's not how upvotes work. I still did it because (1)Renan's answer wasn't bad, even for a really POB/TB question, and (2) because I wanted to make a point/felt bad. It's my vote. I think I put it to better use than not voting at all . . .
22:13
@FoxElemental Actually, you just set a bad example. Don't forget that your actions and your comments remain on the site when you get higher rep. People won't know what your rep was when you posted it, and if you ever do get to that higher rep level, people will only see you setting a bad example.
In a way, you potentially created a situation for harm
That makes your action worse than not voting at all
Ofc, if you just voted and didn't say anything, we wouldn't be having this conversation...
