For the past few days I've been obsessing over a basic game design idea I had

The map would be split between two main zones "locked" and then the rest of the world which would be made up of randomized tile sets (that reassemble every so often so you have a unique experience each time as you travel

Now I'm just seeing if coding wise if you could turn the randomized tiles into locked ones (player purchasing land)

Thanks man! I've always liked open world, but star is maps getting boring real quick, but I still wanted permanent locations

My other idea for the game was having multiple population settings for the city or village tiles so if a bunch of players started showing up the game would add more NPCs to make the city feel crowded (due to the people that would follow the player around)

Ex: The normal "Butcher shop" would have a ramshackle merchant stall added to its side if the city got crowded

@Aify That's a wrong perception in the community. Mods are still just normal users. Experienced users that are supposed to take care of the really ugly stuff, but it's not like they dictate anything. And that post is just a proposal.

@HaaruunI Everything is overused. It depends on how you describe it. But depending on the monster you have different options. Dust, smoke, crumblind to pieces, just a big flame, fading away slowy, fading away near-instantly, ...

In my story, there is a sword similar to J. K. Rowling's Sword of Godric Griffindor. When you are in danger, it will appear next to you, and then you can summon it later on.
