@Celestial thanks for the ideas. The "why" is most relevant. I'm writing up a "worldbuilding checklist" for Universe Factory--WB's blog. Do you mind if I use your idea of "asking 'why' about everything" as a source for some of my checklist questions?

Q: If a question can be answered objectively, but has multiple equally valid solutions, is it primarily opinion based?

BenA question may ask for a way of achieving or explaining something (e.g. A particular set of conditions on a planet, a physical structure, a course of action). Solutions to the question are based on what would work in reality (or reality with some adjusted parameters). They are objectively valid ...

Just found really weird answers here and here on these two related questions. Should I flag as rude/abusive or as spam?

Yeah those are pretty wild. I assume they’ve got some flags on them already but I’d go more for the spam than rude/abusive

Good point, thanks

Probably a spam bot due to the way the text is laid out having a similar response for each keyword used. As well as what looks like copy and paste from probably Wikipedia

@CelestialDragonEmperor What are you talking about?

@Secespitus The stuff fox elemental linked

hey there @CelestialDragonEmperor

@FoxElemental Doesn't really matter. Both will automatically downvote the question and count towards the auto-delete limit of six such flags. And both will send it to the mod review queue. I flagged as rude/abusive. It's not advertising anything, but it's going into not-nice territory.

@Secespitus yeah -- it's someone who's off their rocker at SovCit levels :P as their legal premise completely ignores a rather settled piece of SCOTUS jurisprudence called CBS v. DNC that establishes that 1A rights extend to editorial decisions ;)

A: Sandbox for Proposed Questions

IncognitoHow can I use magic to make childbirth easier? Going through labour is an intense and painful process that can last anywhere from 8 to 18 hours. It was also very dangerous for women during the middle ages. The lack of medicine and healthcare led to many unnecessary deaths during childbirth, with...

Q: Should we have "unbuilding" flags for comments?

FoxElementalI've recently noticed that posts tend to have one or two "unbuilding" comments. I think these are not only unnecessary but also semi-rude: a premise has been set and should be believed in for as long as suspension of disbelief can hold. While these comments are certainly useful in the context of ...
