For a hand-held, SS would be fine. For a permanent installation in briny and hot saltwater, platinum will last much longer.

Hey, in a buck converter, when we take the average inductor voltage for ton and toff, and we also include the inductor's series resistance, we would get (v_L = Vin - i_L*R - Vo), so the average is just DT(Vin - i_L * R - Vo)
Then we can also find the average inductor current, which is Vo/R... but why do we use this average for the inductor's average current for ton AND toff, when the average for ton should be D*Vo/R, and (1-D)*Vo/Ro for toff

So shouldn't the average for ton be DT(Vin - (D*Vo * R_L)/Ro - Vo) instead
