Hi, is anyone here?
@Downgoat Maybe
I have a question about, SPI, and all. I bought this transceiver, but I am trying to use it without a microcontroller (because I only have one). Is it possible to hook up it's SPI without a microcontroller? I couldn't find anything on google
@Downgoat Hook up to what?
that's what I don't know. The SPI connects to the SPI ports on the arduino, but I don't have two arduino for both transceivers. Can I setup the SPI without an arduino?
@Downgoat It would behoove you to find some documentation on SPI and read it.

> € host www.amazon.com
Host www.amazon.com not found: 2(SERVFAIL)
Is it just me or is there a real problem with reaching www.amazon.com?
hmmm just me I guess

@PlasmaHH thnx

hm, this hdd magnet is so strong, I cant remove it from the doorjamb :/
What hdd magnet? What is a doorjamb?
you know these magnets that the hdd arms coil works against...
11:14
@PlasmaHH slide, don't pull
@Asmyldof probably, wasn't clear enough :) thx
11:44
@Asmyldof not possible because the jamb is not even
Does anyone here have experience with KiCAD and freeroute?
there is a free course that u can do on KiCAD
on udemy website
I am asking for your experience
for beginners
I need just the Freeroute tool
11:57
I am not very competent with KiCAD tho
@PlasmaHH torque it up with a srewdriver and slide plastic or cardboard between it. double the gap = half the trength
12:50
@PlasmaHH So what is the problem, you need your magnet for something else (why did you stick it on the doorjamb in the first place) or you can't close the door any more (why did you stick it there in the first place)?
13:06
@jippie I am moving into another house
@Asmyldof I am afraid to damage the paint by doing that
@PlasmaHH put hard cloth or wood under the screwdriver.... why am I doing all the thinking here?
@Asmyldof because I am fucking tired after carrying almost the complete apartment to the new house and not sleeping enough due to kids and aching back?
@PlasmaHH Pretty sure at least the kids are your own fault

@PlasmaHH imagine how much more stuff you would've had if all came with free delivery.

@jippie Id rather imagine how much stuff I could move if it was freely delivered to the new house
Hey what do you guys do if you can't find a SPICE model? I'm trying to look for this: CD4051B
@tabchas why would you want to use spice for symulating that device?
because spice is a golden hammer
@Asmyldof I need to do further research on that, might be evolution to blame
then again the major parameters are in the features paragraph
wait. can't i just use a resistor that equals the on-resistance of that switch?
@jippie
20:09
depends on your circuit, but that would most certainly be my first attempt. And check if capacitances are listed.
thats the circuit. its supposed to be a row selection circuit for a resistive sensor array
@jippie the paper says it uses the eight-channel multiplexer ( CD4051B) as the row selection switch
so for the switch that I want ON, I could replace it with a 125 ohm (typical on resistance of the switch) resistor
and for the switches to be OFF, I could leave disconnected.
@jippie does that sound correct?
@tabchas might just do the job. Depends on the rest of the circuit, the switching speed, the frequencies involved etc.
anyways, I'm out
/night
20:57
Hello everybody
Anyone familiar with altium designer?
@jippie ^ ?
:)
21:40
@ThePhoton m'colleagues are all ready for nerdy visitors at ofc
/out again
22:12
@Asmyldof Unfortunately I passed on the chance to go down. Would have mainly been doing it for personal reasons, to check out Effect and the company my girlfriend just got hired at.
