Sometimes I don't understand how voting works. I asked this question and got downvoted. I don't mind being downvoted, on the contrary, if my question does not meet the SE standards I think it deserves being downvoted to oblivion.
Thing is, every time I ask a question on SE I always do two thing...
The DROWN attack is a cross-protocol security bug that attacks servers supporting modern TLS protocol suites by using their support for the obsolete, insecure, SSL v2 protocol to leverage an attack on connections using up-to-date protocols that would otherwise be secure. DROWN can affect all types of servers that offer services encrypted with TLS yet still support SSLv2, provided they share the same public key credentials between the two protocols.
Full details of DROWN were announced in March 2016, together with a patch for the exploit; the vulnerability was assigned the CVE ID CVE-2016-0800....

@silverpenguin Please. I'm pretty sure I'm the only MS-holic around here. Anyone else in here looking to perform such consecration would surely insist upon Linux.
Oh, wait... there's @AviD too. I think he's still on WinPhone.
Update: As of February 23, 2016, the new mobile version is the default. If you've tested the new version before this date, nothing will change for you (even if you've disabled the new version since, in which case it will continue to be disabled).

room topic changed to The DMZ: A special place where bears are ursine overlords, ponies are pyros, buffalos are the NSA and mods are self-censoring... non-Sec.SE mods please consult the local team before considering bans :) PS we don't do hardware/software support [crypto] [donuts] [infosec] [nono-support] [security] [webappsec]
@DavidFreitag Actually, I still put a fair amount of care into my selection when I had one. Always got the kind that could keep up with a Slinky in a stairwell and live to tell the tale.
This feels awkward. Everyone is sitting on thsee high-off-the-ground chairs, and their legs are hanging from them. But I'm just sitting here touching the ground, and getting funny looks...
and since when can't I vote as a dupe if the target doesn't have a positive rated or acceptable answer, even when it's clear that the two users are the same and asking nearly identical question?
Passcode protected iOS device? Just ask Siri for a link to a nonexistent app. Siri allows you to open a restricted Web page. You can then go back to the home screen. That's hilarious.
Yeah - I suspect that the double accounting is due to being a noob and not trying to pad their rep but cross-editing their own posts, just wanted to give a shout out to the mods so they can do whatever they do with it
but they edited one of their own questions with the other account - that means they had access to both accounts at the same time. maybe they're using two-different devices? dunno
it's a bad follow-up on the system's part, there should at the minimum be some sort of a reminder to unregistered people, preferably with a token they can use to auto-merge accounts
or something else, dunno I didn't even put any thought into it, surely there's ways to avoid it
like asking for an email address, sending there that token with invitation to register
Teleworker: "Can you check on a system for me? It's not pinging." Me: (Walks into next room. Logs in locally. Confirms connectivity and IP.) Me: (Returns to desk. Pings target.) Me: "Everything looks fine from here." Teleworker: "Let me disconnect and reconnect my VPN." Teleworker: "Oh. Looks like my VPN dropped." Me: (FACEPALM)
I was at my friends last week and his girlfriend had a friend over and they were having "girl time" in the living room. We hijacked the chromecast and blasted that song from the TV
@Ohnana That's what they called it. Apparently they hadn't seen each other in forever. Really it was drinking wine, eating peanut butter cups, and watching Netflix.
There are two websites that you can use to see where your information is being used publicly. pipl.com and thatsthem.com some of them tell you where they located your personal information. not all of it is accurate all the time. let me know if that helps
Only like six people in here could star, one is too awesome to be bothered with "stars", one is too old, one is too crotchety, one isn't here enough to make a difference, and the others are probably fine.
@Adi if a requirement was to have over 25k to star something ... all it would change is how many people starred something, not necessarily what has been starred
