yes I did just spill coffee on my nexus 7
That's what you get for drinking coffee.
@RoryMcCune You know what would be awesome? If ZAP had something approaching documentation.
@ScottPack s'got a wiki code.google.com/p/zaproxy/wiki/Introduction?tm=6 what more do you want!
@RoryMcCune It's amusing that the only thing this thing is actually proxying is dropbox. :)
18:32
So, I just earned the "peanut gallery" "hat". Is anyone else just a little bothered that it includes a foam finger?
It's a pretty cool hat.
18:55
Yes, but Miley Cyrus ruined the foam finger for everyone not long ago.
@Iszi Eh?
@ScottPack I'd point you to a video, or some Google terms, but you're better off remaining ignorant.
@Iszi You're too old to be aware and care about the whole Cyrus story.
@Simon Given the media coverage it's gotten, nobody's too old to be aware, and anyone who would be wouldn't so much care about it as they would just be disgusted.
@Iszi Mr. Pack is a proper old person, he isn't aware of it.
19:06
@Simon Mr. Pack also doesn't have children of an age to care.
@Iszi Does your daughter like Cyrus?
@Simon Lern to spel. It's Cyprus
soz o gr8 german
19:41
@Simon Used to. Back when she was just Hannah Montana.
@Iszi Yeah she was fine back then.
@Simon Perv.
Sigh.
SHE WASN'T CRAZY.
Is that better?
Perhaps not yet entirely accurate, but less pervy.

Nooooooooooo
in b4
Damn you bounty!
b4 what?
in after
@tylerl don't teach him the errors of his ways
if he starts to "get it", we're all done for
19:48
today at my client:
@kalina not a prospect that keeps me up at night
@tylerl I suppose the chance of him getting it is so slim that we don't really need to worry
@LucasKauffman Are you the fat computer operator in Jurassic Park I ?!?
@tylerl I issued a bounty and I'm maxed out at 195 rep, that doesn't count towards legendary, right?
@Simon Denis?
@Simon bastard.
19:50
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW HIS NAME?
YES HIM.
I watched Jurassic Park recently
all three of them, back to back
nurd
@kalina There was only one.
ONLY ONE
that's not nurdy
Watching Lord of the Rings trilogy director's cut back to back
that's nurdy
19:50
@kalina Can't remember the last time I watched JP, but I do remember Dennis Nedry.
@kalina More or less nerdy than the Extended Editions?
'Cause that's still on my to-do list.
@Iszi Funny how you can shuffle 2 letters to make "Nerdy".
are the extended editions longer or shorter than the directors cut?
Also @Adnan just replenished my beer stash:
alcoholic
@kalina I'm a connaiseur
@kalina besides the second shelve is to keep for another year
19:52
@LucasKauffman fancy word for alcoholic
connaisseur
noob
@Simon hi5
Your hand must be full of poison.
@kalina Not sure, but probably longer. I can't imagine the Director's Cut matching the Extended Edition in terms of added content. Only thing would be if the Director's Cut actually started from the Extended Edition and added.
@Iszi iirc directors cut brings the trilogy up to nearly 12 hours
19:54
I watched the extended edition, it was gr8.
don't say gr8
we're not texting each other
or using a calculator
@kalina asl?
OR YAHOO CHAT
19:54
I don't even type "gr8" in texts.
NOBODY EVER FUCKING USED YAHOO CHAT SO FUCK OFF WITH THAT.
@kalina Maybe Director's Cut and Extended Edition are synonymous in this case - that's about right for the Extended.
I'm not a fan of how much they're padding the hobbit to make it a trilogy
Haven't read the books yet, so I have no opinion on the matter.
Why don't the both of you write the "Nurdism" book together?
...
you hate me and wish I was dead, don't you?
DON'T YOU?
19:58
wat
that's what I thought
I'm gonna code an extension for Google Chrome that replaces "what" with "wat".
with*
Really?
"what" with "wat"
19:59
FUCK
I RUINED IT
rofl
Does any non-foreign English speaker confirm this?
There, it took me 5 mins to fix it but whatevz.
you use "by" when you're talking in past tense but not with that word order like;
what - replaced by wat
Oh lawd, I didn't know.
happens
20:00
@Iszi Aye aye captn
DONE
I helped @Simon, and he listened to me, I deserve a hat for that
And I deserve the "french as fuk" hat.
a baguette?
Yep
20:02
@Simon I would argue that you, in fact, do not
Perhaps "Canadian as a tuque"
But "French" would imply "French"
I'd rather have "Village idiot".
wasn't there a village idiot hat last year?
@kalina In fact "with" and "by" are largely interchangeable after "replace", the traditional (but nowhere mandatory) rule being that you use "with" for a replacement which will happen in the future, and you use "by" for a replacement which already took place.
But you can also combine both to designate differently the replacement and who does the replacement.
20:08
@ThomasPornin L'ourse noire
@ThomasPornin I already said the tense stuff
l'ours noir
E.g. "What" is replaced with "wat" by Simon's extension.
@Simon I concur: the bear on the photograph is indeed male (or so said the plaque in the zoo where the photo was taken).
It would have been weird if it was female.
On a side note, this is my second coffee in 2 days.
I might die.
lol
I've drank more coffee than that since I arrived home
20:12
I don't ever wanna get to that point.
neva eva.
without a coffee in the morning, I'd wrap myself around the first car I passed
I drink coffee in the afternoon for some reason.
Water is the way to go in the morning.
I don't wake up in the morning
I hate 5am to lunch
no coffee = driving with eyes closed
So, you're driving like a woman without coffee.
it's extremely rare I put makeup on while driving
and after coffee it's extremely rare I stay below the speed limit
45 in a 30 NP! oooh speed camera slows down and passes camera VROOOOOOOOOOOOM
20:20
vroom vroom
NO PROBLEM

> Police rescue woman from dark and chilly Melbourne waters still clutching her mobile phone
> "With Facebook, or social media in general as far as we're concerned, if you're anywhere near the water just pay attention," Kelly said. "Especially if you can't swim."
20:30
@kalina Do you think that @tylerl's stories are uninteresting?
I think I'm bipolar.
I'm sorry @simon, @tylerl's stories sent me to sleep, what were you saying?
@kalina lolololol

Hi folks, just a quick note here to remind y’all that the yearly Stack Overflow User Survey is live!

We’ve edited the questions/answers based on your feedback from last year’s survey and suggestions posted on Meta.

As a small token of our appreciation, we’ll be donating $1 for each completed survey to your choice of of one of this year’s Stack Exchange Gives Back charities (look forward to an announcement soon regarding this year’s full donations).

As always, we’ll be posting the results here on the blog once the survey is completed. …

I DON'T CARE.
Why don't you give the damn dollar to me?
Wow, the occupation question really puts into perspective that's important to the authors.
20:41
@ThomasPornin Can I pay you to answer questions on my account?
@ScottPack This survey really reads like "we want stats to show advertisers why they should put adverts here!"
stuff about purchase authority and budgets is pretty blatent!
@RoryMcCune Oh sure, I expect that.
It's also very much, "Explain to us what kind of programming you do."
The sucky kind.
@ManishEarth Is your mom proud of all the hats you have?
@ScottPack indeed one of the "up and coming" techs in their list I'd never even heard of!
(Apache Cordova)
@RoryMcCune More than half of the sections on daily activities are programming, in fact all the technical duties are. Same with job title. They have 15 different types of developer then "IT Staff/System Administrator"
20:49
@ScottPack heh I'm just "other" on their scale...
allo @AviD
indeed it is.
wat
Writing tests is so boring. I should acquire a test writing slave.
hi
@ScottPack The ragamuffin seems to be pretty active these days, do you think we can do something about it?
20:53
@TerryChia Unfortunately they have a pretty high false positive rate. So I need to still check the spam folder.
@Simon Which one?
@ScottPack tbf, SO users are about 85% of the entire SEI network users.
@AviD You're a SO user.
21:03
LOL
@ScottPack heh. Cant say I disagree, I would say about 85% of SO users are not programmers.
well, statistically its probably more like 60%.
99.9% of statistics are made up.
How do you use StackOverflow? Other: I don't participate in StackOverflow.
Douchwagons.
@ScottPack how long did it take Careers.SO to support any other site? Hell, its still .SO...
@AviD I'm still waiting on meta.stackexchange.com
21:04
@Simon these aren't, but they could be inaccurate due to faulty memory.
@AviD How could you accurately figure that out other than by asking every single user?
@Simon which part? the 85% of SEI is SO (they mentioned this at some point), or that 60% are not programmers?
60% are not programmers
the 60% is based on well known studies, that approximately 60% of those employed as programmers, are NOT programmers, and in fact have nary a clue as to HOW to program or WHAT PROGRAMMING IS ABOUT.
your mom
21:07
My own anecdotal experience (seeing many many organizations and many programmers) matches this.
boring
so's your face.
yknow what's not boring? That you are emulating @kalina.
How is a face not boring?
wat
not sure if that's a compliment or an insult
Not sure what he meant.
21:16
@Simon you want to BE @kalina, @Adnan wont stop flirting with @kalina.... I think you should get together with @Adnan.
ok
The dude answered the same question twice: security.stackexchange.com/users/35754/kefe
that's not unallowed...
two of my highest scoring answers on SO are on the same question...
also, he may have just forgot...
Both answers suck.
@AviD I'm surprised it's only 60%.
ah no, it is thinly veiled spam. I had removed the spammy bits from his first answer, so he re-added it. If he does it again, Imma spamflag him, no more benefit of the doubt.
@ScottPack hey, I didnt say the rest are good programmers.
oh durp, that survey? It is explicitly titled "the yearly Stack Overflow User Survey". So, duh, its about SO users, not SE.
dammit, I hate when they ask my age, and I keep having to select a later and later group.... :-(
21:24
Ouch, wake up call.
@AviD The problem is that when you're talking to someone at corporate then they use SO to refer to both all the sites as well as SO.
I answered a question on stackoverflow twice. One answer on-topic, the other off-topic. The off-topic answer received more upvotes
true. and I refer you back to the 85%.
SO is also the only site with its own set of servers, its own DB server, its own chat server.... etc
@Simon on the other hand, I do enjoy selecting a lower and lower option in the salary question.
So there's that.
All of you should be obligated to tell me how much you make.
So I can drool and hope.
@Simon ah, that explains the @kalina situation as well.
21:28
durty
@Simon I also answered the same question twice.
@ThomasPornin both times as you?
@AviD Yes indeed. On the "How does SSL work ?" question.
ah, but that was because you hit the post length limit, no?
I don't think I have double-beared any question so far, but I may in the future.
@AviD Technically, I did not reach the limit, but my instinct told me that it was close enough.
21:32
same thing.
@Thomas' instinct == reality.
finally - I am home. But still about 3 hours work to do :-(
oh noes! @kalina you got pushed down to #3....
@AviD - not yet had a chance to claim the Rory hat - I think I know how to start it
@ThomasPornin Well yeah, it is fine when the answer is actually decent.
Not when it's 3 liners twice.
IS SOMEONE REALLY EATING POPCORN AT THE OFFICE?
REALLY?
@Simon yeah, that was spammish.
21:41
Upon further investigation, I confirm that someone really is eating popcorn here.
hmm, what is the "I'm not listening" hat for?
A wild mysterious starrer appears.
@Simon I'm not wild
You're the wildest of them.
@RoryAlsop @ManishEarth I found another datapoint that seems to confirm my hypothesis. @ManishEarth you need another upvote, and its yours.
21:52
@RoryAlsop Yarr!

Q: How can someone go off-web, and anonymise themselves after a life online?

Rory AlsopWith data mining tools like Maltego and other correlation tools for large datasets, the assumption has to be that if we conduct any transactions online these can all be collated to build a good picture of what we do, buy, read etc (hence Google etc) If a normal person, with a large online histor...

@AviD meh, I have a couple of hats incoming
soon(tm)
@RoryAlsop I think I might know that one...
@avid don't think I have the hat yet though
@RoryAlsop are you sure thats not a dupe?
@ManishEarth another upvote...
21:59
@AviD there was one that was associated, but was around going online and being anonymous, not what to do if you have been there and now want to vanish
@ManishEarth linky?
I can upboat
@ManishEarth vote @rory
I'm not getting a hang of this rep capping business
