Construction sites here require instead of N and +110, they do -60 and +60. A 60v shock is barely perceptible.

so unless you touch both, you're not going to be hurt

well you have two kinds of reflexes when it comes to shock ... some will grab and won't be able to let go and some will let go immediately ... I'm the latter, by experience

you don't get the amps without the volts. No matter how many 1.5v batteries you connect in parallel, it's not going to drive enough electrons through you to even register.

Having been shocked by both 110 and 220 within a relatively short time, i think 220 is better.

To make this a scientific study, I think you need to do a voltage taste test.

Mostly because 220 is running at 50Hz (in most places i think) and 110 in america is at 60Hz

50Hz causes your muscles to suddenly spasm and then releases them, whereas 60Hz causes you to continuously spasm (thus absorbing more of a shock)

In fact you can survive; it depends a lot on the exact moment the surge went through (relatively to the heartbeat cycle).

I used to repair colour TV's (amongst a few other things) - the flyback transformer in them could easily fling you across a room, whereas the million volt shockers I used to build to zap my schoolmates couldn't do much

110 american 60Hz mains is NOT fun to get shocked by. 220 @ 50Hz is like getting punched in the chest
