I had hoped at the time that such dire action would have resulted in somebody at Stack Exchange paying attention to the fact one of the most active users on the site had just randomly quit one day
a user who has only been around a year is top of all of your review queues and has collected site first gold badges for reviewing in all but 2 categories, has the most edits, does the most voting, generates 15k rep per 180 days, etc
definitely falls into "one of the most active users" category for sure
I really would have expected a company based upon a community model like SE to care if one of their active users is unhappy though, that did actually surprise me
@kalina I dont know the details of this specific case, but I do know that in general the community managers DO care, very much, about things like this.
@kalina The mods may be able to speak differently but based on my experiences with the various metas, and the podcasts, they seem to care more about the marketing of having a "community based system of sites" more than having a community based system of sites.
Hi! In my webhosting provider they have this: GnuPG is a publicly available encryption scheme that uses the "public key" approach. Is this important? What is your understanding on this. Thanks
@kalina I might be going out on a limb here because I really don't know you that well, but might it be because your past interactions with other people in chat might not reflect well on you?
...I am an ordinary guy with no ideal with web, and in my hosting provider they have this menu: Security > GnuPG Keys. Then I'm promoted to register. any idea?
a quote : "With GnuPG, messages are encrypted using a "public key" however, they can only be decrypted by a "private key", which is retained by the intended recipient of the message."
@LucasKauffman seriously though, in this instance I was complaining that the kick tool doesn't result in any logging, mods can use it with no real noticeable effect in chat if you rejoin quick enough, and it's infuriating that the moment you pull them up on it this particular mod would just ban you for an hour
@kalina For the most part I rather like chatting with the guys in there. There's a couple of people who frustrate me, but they tend not to hang out in there for a long period of time.
@AviD On my web hosting provider, they have this menu: Security > GnuGp Keys. I clicked that and, it says Create a New Key. As a new user and no idea with php programming, does this help me?
@AviD What? Kicking @RoryMcCune from #10? Before most likely. I'll pass him in a month at this rate while Small bear needs at least 3-4 for the #2 spot.
