Q: Do any scriptures describe Hanuman to be an incarnation of Vayu?

Surya Kanta Bose ChowdhuryAs described in this answer, Hanuman is considered to be an incarnation of Shiva. However, the Madhwa sect believes Vayu had the 3 incarnations, of which, the first was Hanuman (Sripad Madhvacharya is considered to be the third incarnation of Vayu). While many scriptures describe Hanuman to be an...

@BhargavRao @Pandya @TheDestroyer @KeshavSrinivasan How should be the edits reviews when the edit is done to the translations quoted material which are subjected to copy right? There was an edit which altered the meaning in the quoted text.

@NogShine I think you are talking about The Destroyer's answer.
:)

@TriyugiNarayanMani Yeah.

A: Is the ritual of killing an animal as offering to Maa Kali correct?

The DestroyerIt's not mandatory to sacrifice animals in Devi or Kaali worship. But goat or animal sacrifice is considered as non-killing. The animals which are sacrificed to the Divine Mother will go to heaven. This is mentioned in Chapter 26, 3rd book of Srimad Devi Bhagavatam. This chapter describes proced...

@NogShine I have also approved that.

@TriyugiNarayanMani I rejected because it was a translation and is copy righted.
Now, the material is totally removed by indianscriptures.com
@TriyugiNarayanMani Yeah. Seen that.

@NogShine I approved only because he has done right translation.

6:47 AM
@TriyugiNarayanMani If it was a part of the answer and not quoted I would have no doubt but this is a case of a translation. The right is with the translator.

But I think you are right because it was quoted text
@NogShine Yeah. I do agree
Can this be reopened

Q: What are days I can have an oil massage on head or on body as per Hindu religion

Rahul KThere is already a question about Shaving / Haircut / Nailcut - what days are allowed / prohibited?. So, I want to know the days I can take an oil massage as per Hinduism including weekdays as well as the days as per the lunar calendar followed by us.

When I saw the edit reason, I was about to click on appprove but held back because it was quoted text.

@NogShine Yes. I approved because of comment only

@TriyugiNarayanMani I voted after some edits.
But I don't agree with an answer posted on meta that one should be conversant with entire scriptures to vote to close as off-topic and primarily opinion based.

@NogShine Great

Because many Puranas say that Hanumana is the son of vayu.
But I have not read anywhere Hanumana as incarnation of Vayu

7:27 AM
@TriyugiNarayanMani Hanuman as an incarnation. There are shlokas where Hanuman is said to be the son of Vayu and is eual of him. So, that will count as avatara. Also, the point of view is from Madhwas. Madhwas consider it Vali to be Indra, Sugriva to be Surya. So, Hanuman is an incarnation of Vayu only. He has the same power as his father.
@TriyugiNarayanMani You can directly ask @SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury
BTW, Did you return from Kashi?

@NogShine Yes
@NogShine ok

Q: Do we have any account of Nand and Yashoda's daughter's afterlife?

AbyIn Shreemad Bhagavatam, we have read that infant Krishna was replaced by an infant girl by Vasudeva. This girl was the daughter of Nanda and Yashoda and when Kansa tried to kill that girl she changed to a goddess (not sure but I think Devi Durga or Yog Maya) and informed Kansa that his kaal is so...

I don't know why users here only emphasise on 'A' in the Q&A and forget other words.
Some users didn't understand it ands suggested edit only to be rejected.
and they use capital letters in transliteration. Don't know which one it is. ITRANS doesn't have capital letters as first letters for the words they use.

@NogShine where?

@TriyugiNarayanMani there are many posts.
like they use Bhagavad GItA which is a wrong transliteration.

@NogShine yes

and also PurAnA to which the correct one is purANa

@NogShine yes

7:49 AM
and when I corrected once, they rolled back or overruled saying their books have the transliteration like that the wrong one.
So, I stopped correcting them.

@NogShine Oh. BTW I will catch you later going for lunch.

But according to the guidelines, there should be correct transliteration for sanskrit words.
@TriyugiNarayanMani Yes, catch you later.
@TriyugiNarayanMani nice find

Q: Is all natural matter made same pattern references in any Hindu Scripture?

Pranav SinghSome new researches shows Nature has same pattern for all natural design. I am not talking about 5 elements or atom(electron, proton, neutron etc). I am talking about design or structure. Q: do Hindu scriptures talk about which relatives you may marry?

S KIn Southern India, Hindus can marry first cousins - in other words you and your wife may have the same grandparents. Also girls can marry their uncle - mother's brother. Obviously the law sanctions this - but how about Hindu scripture?

Q: When was the expression "Sanatana Dharma" first used and what does it mean?

S KDoes it mean it has existed forever and would exist forever? Does it mean it is changeless? Also does Hindu script...

Q: Dhyana and controlling anger

Santanu DebnathLord Shiva do Dhyana almost all of the time. Then why can't he control his anger? There were some very famous Rishis known for their bad tempered. How also they unable to control their anger? N.b.- It may be a bad question but seriously I had doubts so consider it a serious question

Man I don't like this person at all, why he even exists:
There is no evidence that scriptures can foretell anything. Iyappan is obviously a local Keralan God that was integrated into mainstream Hinduism (he has virtually no following in north india). If any scripture mentions him, it must be a "back forecast". Rather like how Krishna-vasudeva were deified in the north. scroll.in/article/814754/…S K 2 hours ago
