@NogShine i am sorry.
But I can't help it.

I understand.
Flag such comments. No mercy. If they are a continous trend, flag for mod intervention.

Will do from now on.
When he commented first time on my post, I thought of giving him one chance
But he didn't understand

R/A comment flags will not initiate auto suspension but mods can do that if that is a trend.

@BhargavRao Exam finished ? Good Morning all .

Just sayin' I have flagged many no longer needed and rude flags past month.
In fact ost of the flags are comment flags.

@BhargavRao I used to spend whole time after office in dominos which is inside the metro station campus itself

@BhargavRao Ohh! We will discuss now. NP. ;)
If someone is free, there are some questions which are easy to review. Just leave opens and exact dupes.

@BhargavRao afair you live in Bangalore isn't it ?

I used to roam around the place, twas quite calm. Used to get back to room at 1:00 AM, then moderate Stack Overflow (as a normal user, not as a <> mod).

I live in La Jolla, CA.

@TheLittleNaruto duuuuuuuuuude, tomorrow I am leaving for hometown

@NogShine Not exactly incarnation, Vali and Sugriva are considered to be an "amsh" of Indra and Surya. It's not incarnation per se. Similarly, Arjuna is considered to be a part of Indra's blessing, and Karna to be a part of Surya's blessings. There's another story which tells how, Vishnu sided with Surya (Sugriva) against Indra (Vali) as Rama, and how he supported Indra (Arjuna) against Surya (Karna) as Krishna.
I'm not finding a suitable English word for that.

Anubhav JhaGayatri mantra which is chanted at the end of Sri sukta, which upanishad or Veda contains it?

A: What is the story of Pushkaravarta clouds that cause Pralaya?

SwiftPushkarDefinition - Pushkaravarta тАФ (from Pushkara, i.e. water, and vrita, to have place in, i.e., a watery cloud) a name for the flood clouds of the world-destroying deluge. Vayu Purana Chapter 51 Verse -37 - Tells us that they are class of clouds said to cause death or famine. And are generated from ...

@SwiftPushkar keep it.

@NogShine Akasha linga is at Chidambaram, right?

5:19 AM
BTW just mentioned this in answer that this is part of the answer and not exactly what the OP want.

(from the jala vayu akasha agni and prithvi linga series)

@BhargavRao yes

Are there any scriptures that mention about it? (collecting info for a possible answer)

@NogShine OK ,was thinking of deleting it and reposting after finding story ,but haven't came across any story yet. So was just confused.ЁЯдФ

@SwiftPushkar Can be considered as partial answer. Btw, have you found anything related to Pralaya as mentioned in the question?

5:24 AM
@SwiftPushkar Some part of the answer mentions about the origin. So, it is an answer.

@SwiftPushkar It's an answer. Partial answers are allowed.
And you don't need to add that line regarding the partial answer. It's just meta stuff, which can be added in a comment.

@BhargavRao Yeah. I too don't like adding self answer, partial answer etc.,

I need some stuff for akasha linga. I've found this after some googling sites.google.com/site/sanatandharmaproject/… which maps the Ashtamurthi to the separate sites.

@Pandya, thanks so much! This is really helpful. I appreciate your taking the time to provide both the Devanagari and IAST. — Andrew Kirk Dec 28 '17 at 15:40

I can possibly link to Tezz's answer on that subject.

@BhargavRao There is a comprehensive answer(s) about Ashtamurti.

I can possibly link to Tezz's answer on that subject.
That was one gold standard answer. I had typed a long comment on that, thinking that @Tezz wanted an answer. They probably should use the Ask and Answer feature.

Q: For unmarried granddaughter, on the death of grandfather's brother's wife how many day's Sutak should be followed?

SDCIn my family my paternal grandfather's brother's wife died. There is lot of contradictory statement we are getting over the Sutak period that is applied to me in this case. Should it be three and half day's or ten day's?

@BhargavRao lol. it should be no longer needed.

5:31 AM
Yup, was joking :D

@BhargavRao the comment or the message?

the comment, they're quite rude to you by not attributing the edit to you. :D

@NogShine ok. Let me transfer that credit to you! Haha

@BhargavRao lol. I am okay with it. Some users don't know who edited.
@Pandya No problem. I don't edit for credits. :) Just to improve the answers. It is like a polish.

@Pandya Yes ,puranas are mentioning them as clouds which pour rain at pralaya ,but the story is yet to be found ,and that's wht exactly OP is asking.

5:35 AM
@DroidDev Glad to know that. I am coming too.

@Pandya When using IAST, I use transliteration tool but for ITRANS, I can type manually.

@BhargavRao Haha yes , ЁЯЩВЁЯСНЁЯСНЁЯНм Will find the story. Actually ,I forgot to add note ,which i added later on.But anyway your comment relieved me much.

A: What are the eight forms (Ashtamurti) of Lord Shiva?

TezzLord Shiva forms the basis of creation of everything and it is also represented by his AshtaMurti or Eight Fold forms. 1) AshtaMurti in Vedas: RigVeda states Lord Shiva as 'Pururupa' or 'one who has multiple forms.' and RigVeda also states 'Yajatam Vishwarupam' ie. Who himself is in the form of...

@BhargavRao oh ok

1639 now.
47 questions have answers but negative or zero score.

@NogShine hmm , I will Post some answers to old unanswered questions soon , they are half written actually , was busy in finding answers of recent ones , Will try to finish them.

@NogShine @BhargavRao Actually there is quite a good chance now of sites graduation if we somehow increase the numbers of answers. The others numbers are fine (from area 51) site stats. But just need little push.

7:58 AM
The 77% is enough. Software Recommendations had less than that.

@BhargavRao Yes but another crucial factor is number of answers per question ,it should be 2.5 currently it's 1 i think.

@SwiftPushkar @BhargavRao I wrote an answer to which there is another answer. The other answer hardly adresses the question. So, I wrote a new one in detail. To increase the answer ratio.

Yeah, we need to write multiple answers.

@BhargavRao BTW do you know Malshej Ghat?

I've heard of it. I think it's one which you get when you take the other highway from Mumbai.
(the other highway => the highway which doesn't go to Lonavala and Pune)

@BhargavRao No it's near Lenyadri , but it's quite imp. place . It's a pass actually , During ancient times kings used to collect toll from the merchant's of silk route there. But apart from that , it's the place within which there are no city lights up to radious of 10-15 km. so we can clearly see the Milky Way from there. As u u have romed around Bhimashankar ,i thought u probably visited this pass. But anyway , lots of other Hinduism related enscriptions are also there.

Ah, ok. I've probably mistaken that with something else.

@BhargavRao Yes , it's not Amby valley , or monkey hill near Lonavala.

@SwiftPushkar err, that's the one which I also mentioned. :p

@SwiftPushkar Yup, I know that now. It's on the opposite road. The mumbai thane side highway. We had planned to visit either that place or Khandala, we ended up visiting Khandala. I never knew that it was near to Lenyadri.

@BhargavRao Oh ok ЁЯСНЁЯСН But this is what i was actually talking about near Malshej , Naneghat. But name malshej is more popular ,so i mentioned malshej. see other wiki article.

Q: Do scriptures talk about performing samskaras for non Hindus?

S KI have seen Americans who didn't seem to be Hare Krishnas get Hindu priests to perform sacraments for the success of their business. Are Hindu priests allowed to do this according to scriptures?

@SwiftPushkar It can be answered easily. The answer is yes.
Shanti paatham is there.
Sarve bhavantu sukhinah Sarve santu niraamayah
So, Hinduism will not differentiate between Hindus and not Hindus

Because a priest is a priest ,he is authorised perform any ceremony wheather in India or Outside , and as long as it's just a Pooja with some indian guy's involved in the businesses , (working there ) at that firm under foreign owners , it's ok. @BhargavRao @NogShine

Also, taccham yorAvruNImahE
@SwiftPushkar yes, many perform yajnas, vratas for their business poojas.
Even trump, Obama did Diwali pooja.

9:42 AM
@SwiftPushkar yeah agree.

Answer#2 for today

@NogShine Yes ,wht i am saying is it's ok as long as some hindu people are also involved in that ceremony. no matter the business is own by the foreigners .ЁЯША but some Hindus are employees there.

I agree. One will perform pooja only when they have faith in it. Else, why would they?

S KKrishna used Ghatotkacha to have Karna waste his Vasavi shakti. But he also said he himself would have killed Ghatotkacha if he had survived. Did Krishna want only Arjuna's descendant to inherit the throne because of his kinship to Arjuna through Subhadra?

Q: Is the naivedyam ritual mentioned in the Vedas?

Rakesh JoshiWe know that naivedyam is an important smarta/pauranik ritual usually done before or after nirAjanam/aarati. Is this ritual also indicated in the Vedic rites? Like how it is done in the 16 upachara pooja.
