that makes sense - i don't think the example was too hard, but finding the break-in was difficult for me. and i used a lot of the checkerboard pattern in the solve, which is very specific to that puzzle
ah exactly, break-ins are pretty hard to find in this puzzle, but once you had that usually the solving goes smoother (this might be similar to hitori, but hitori is way smoother after the break-in)
