No worries, brother. I've been writing cryptic clues for 15 years, and I still manage some stinkers. It's only since I've been on the site and gotten some feedback that I've started (slowly) to improve.
But part of it is style as well...if the rules become so rigid that a computer can judge correctness, they'll lose interest for me.
You were in on some of the group solves, IIRC...it's a good way to gain experience, because you see how other people look at things. I'm always amazed at putting out a puzzle, and looking at the answers to think: "I never even thought of looking at it that way"
It was definitely really fun working together to solve them, I can't take solo credit for either of mine at all. I think @Avi and I collectively solved RAINBOW together, and I only happened to have a random correct guess for @Bubbler's based on something bobble had said
