Quite a surname
Did Alconja ever give a hint for his C4?

@Randal'Thor Lidl, I would assume.
(full name of the girl for whom it was written: Alice Pleasance Liddell)

Gold star for Gareth!
I knew you'd be well-read enough to solve that ;-) (And British enough - not sure if Lidl is a thing elsewhere?)

I always assumed it was a foreign import.
(Scandinavian? German?)
German.

12:31 AM
I knew her name, but I've never heard of Lidl

1 hour later…

@EricTressler Don't think so, ping him if you think he should
I won't have time to look at it this weekend

Q: Easy Riddles #3 I tried to kill you 3 times <3

NL628A girl shoots her boyfriend, but he doesn't die. She then holds him underwater for ten minutes straight, but he still doesn't die. Finally, she hangs him to the roof, and he is still alive. How is this possible?

Q: It's a triple cross variation puzzle

Christopher R Brown I've been trying to solve this puzzle for a long time. When I got it, it was wrapped in plastic with no description on how to solve or what it's official name is. The only other description it had with it was limited edition. Can anyone help me solve this puzzle?

Q: Slightly bigger 1:2 hand tiling, getting a little harder

theonetruepathPretty sure an expert hand tiler would be able to find this. Please post a spoiler only if you hand tile it... Tile a $60\times60$ square with $1:2$ rectangles of sizes 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,16,18,20,22 No gaps/overlaps of course. Solution is unique, ie there is only one way to tile a $60\times60$...

4:57 AM
And internet partiality is setting in.
What a shame.
Instead of whining about politics, i'll shout out another (stage) name: Imogen Heap. Sing on and don't even pretend to play guitar.

5:14 AM
^ Overdubbed and distorted.
Nicely.
Think i'll become a music critic.
Too late.
Every piece of music deserves all stars. Takes courage to note even one.
I hear (and read, whatever medium still works) what others intend.
Not just what others produce.
Makes for a good editor. Again, i come here to let the hair down.
And to feed the antennae!
No action here at the moment? Make me walk outside.
The dog sled is hitched.
I'll check back in a while.

6:23 AM
The dog sled is panting satisfied.
At last, after the last three days of global warming, winter has arrived.
Feels good to break ice rather than glass.
(Spoiler: the way to walk uncovered takes about two months on average. Gotta toughen the leather but, more important, gotta soften the soles.)
This evening i challenged everything to step upon. Them doggies are back.
I might just walk away.
I've been convalescing here. Thank you for accommodation!

6:54 AM
^ The sister i never had.
(Not to worry, i've had other sisters. The only one who isn't a sister is an only child.)
"What is that?" "I know what that is." "That's music."
And a decade or two earlier:
^ please listen seriously.

7:32 AM
There's a lyrical question for you @Mithrandir and @Rand al': To what does "pinball" refer in those lyrics?
I don't know but have some guesses.
The simplest guess is the carrom of life.
The next guess is racking up points by others' counters.
Are you really here too at the moment, @ffao? I love how you're learning English. Teach me Portuguese in your spare time.
I already know Spanish to some extent.
One real-life brother is language savant. Both are, in different ways. One linguist, the other spoken art.
I thirst for language, as if it weren't obvious. I'm medium.
^ and pay attention.
These aren't fingers typing. They're toes.
And when the toes begin to bark, listen.
(Yes i can type with toes. Not easy, but those puppies have regained their step.)
(That last one cheated with fingers.)
Guess i'll go out for another walk. This time without purpose. Back when it's suitable.

8:47 AM
Oh wow. There's a new wave of paranoia around the block.
Everywhere i walked burglar lights turned on.
My burglar days are scores past.
(And it seems internet is behaving again. Yay team!)
What a seesaw.
I'll burgle again if needed. Good thing not at the moment.
Other things to do.
"You may ask yourself, "self, how did i get here?"
"Same as it ever was."
(Beat you to it.)

Q: Finding a Russian alphamagic square

Alexander BagdasaryanThe puzzle is to find a Russian alphamagic square using programming (any programming language will do, providing the code is necessary as this will show how you solved the puzzle). Q: What color is drummer's hair?

SimbaThree friends - cricketer White, footballer Black and drummer Redhead met in a cafeteria. "It is remarkable that one of us has white hair, another one has black hair and the third one has red hair, though no one's name gives the color of their hair", said the black haired person. "You are right", ...

^ That's just a good song, even though misnomered.
"American" covers so much more than USA.
I'll start a colony and call it "Earth."
Sorry fellow earthlings, you've gotta find a new monicker unless you're in my neighbrhood.

RigI need decode this but i dont know which cipher anybody can help? ++++++++++[>+>+++>+++++++>++++++++++<<<<-]>>>++.--------------------.+++++++++++++++.++++++++.<+++++++++++++++++++++.>+++++++.---------------.<+.>++++++++.<-.

Leave guitar to these three: (The drummer ain't bad either -- an alltime great -- Bruford -- but i detected one missed beat.)

1:45 PM
^ @MusicLover, that is hella performance. You might not even like it.
They didn't go into all the lyrics.
(MusicLover teaches fiddle and related instruments.)
(And English without realiszing it.)
(Wrong time of day to challenge her with these gems. So here we are.)

Anyone want to help me solve a KenKen puzzle?
The small blue numbers indicate that I know that region is filled with those numbers
for example I know the 40x region is 2, 4, 5 in some order
except for the 2- region in the middle, where it means that that square is either 2 or 6

2:02 PM
@JackM If your notes are correct, then the lefthand side has some room to make progress

@EricTressler Does it? Note that the clues in the 2- region mean it's either 4 6 or 1 3

Ah; okay, then nevermind. Do you ever place an exploratory number?

I try not to do any computations that I couldn't do in my head, otherwise the puzzle just turns into a tedious brute force search
but other than that yes
for instance, if the 3/ on the left is 3 and 1, then the top is 4, 6, so the left column of the 40x is 2, 5, etc

yeah, i followed a few things, no help so far

2:21 PM
@JackM , that's a goodie!
Normally i solve 6x6ers between breaths. Nice job so far!
I'm with @EricT on the top left corner. Working through it.
I'm all with you, @JackM, on the bottom left.
And in the other corners.
Something's wrong in the 12+ column, though.
Or maybe it just hasn't worked out yet. This is a goodie!
Sure you're not AK? I feel lured.
You made the right number of mistakes.
I do enjoy being fished, no argument, just curious.
I'll fight the line until it snaps if need be.

2:40 PM
And I thought 4x4 kenkens were hard.

They can be!
The 1x1s are the easiest, especially if there's a gimme.

I’d look at 6x. There seems to be a lot of overlap there you can take cases with.

That's the heart of this one. Good call, @thecoder16.
I make love to puzzles.
Each reveals itself given patience.
Others get there quicker.
(Not always.)
(But i really don't mind seconds. The tire tracks show where to go.)
(I only mind seconds when there's lasting damage.)
(If you don't know to what that alludes, lucky! Don't ask.)
(Actually, we probably all have lasting damage. Sorry to prioritisze.)
(Some recover better than others.)
^ I grew up (as if, yet) in their wake.
Same neighbrhood. Barely a couple of years later. The ripples were fresh.
They opened for peace rallies while i was hiding in trees.
And now we have peace rallies again. (That was 1960s.)
Rally!
(Am i the only here who types English? You must allow yourself to be edited by me. It's fun.)
(Don't make me puhu exotic.)

3:12 PM
@humn AK?

A banned funlover who bounces back.
"Arbitrary Kangaroo"

What's wrong with the 12+ column though?

They don't add up. I'm guessing you're playing loosely.

5 + 3 + 4 = 12 and 5 + 1 + 6 = 12

Nice way to notate!

3:15 PM
the 3 4 and 1 6 clues represent two distinct possibilities

Got it.

I guess alot of people annotate each square with which numbers that square might be

Want to post an update?

haven't looked at the puzzle since posting it

Tease!

3:16 PM
been working on it in spare moments over the past couple of days

That's the best 6x6 i've seen.

normally kenken puzzles I either solve smoothly in a couple of minutes, sometimes I hit a block which eventually yields after a while and then the whole puzzle implodes from there

Nice way to put it! "Implode"!
Puzzles just want to collapse into solution!
And now the !!!!!!!! key is worn out.

@JackM My gut instinct tells me to put 6 and 1 (top and bottom respectively) in 6x and the rest of the puzzle will either work itself out or become impossible, but I think it's worth a shot.

I'll break my "no filling in until you're sure" rule and try it

3:23 PM
Use an erasable crayon.

I'm doing it on a phone anyway

ah that makes things much easier :)

^ Don't miss that one, @Rand al'ooney.

with the 6 and 1 layed out like @thecoder16 said, you get a contradiction after about 20 steps
can you spoiler tag in here?

>!test
probably not
ah wel, it was worth a shot

3:29 PM
You can not. Some use rot13.
or rot47, if there are a lot of symbols/numbers.

the top left being 4 6 forces a lot of things
Aha, I believe I've got something now
Got it! Solved

(Laughing like every word begins with "la.")
Tra la la!
Not the naugthy version sought, but close. She voce dolce!
(I'll find the naughtiest verson. Just wait.)
(It's classical, so we can get away with it.)
(Oh make me trilingual just to appreciate song.)
(The above is song to match bird.)
(But upcoming is raw spice. Soon as i find it.)
Oh, seems to be deleted.
Too good to be true.
It's not even that naughty!
It's just naughty enough to be nice.
Meanwhile:
^ To my naughty actual mother. You never strayed, i know, but you gave away secrets.
Lucky father.
And now i blabbermouth.
Too much to conseal.
(Am i still the only one here speaking English? Join the fun!)
(It isn't my native language either.)
(It just feels good to tread upon.)
English deserves worse than i can trod.
But seems to be the global medium.
You don't have to live up to my standard. I don't!
Just let loose.
(I make authors live up to my standard. You have it easier.)
(Unless you want to author.)
(Yes, I've been everywhere. Died more than nine times. Edited more than multiple that. Here to tell. Ask.)
That was sullen. Don't ask.
That piece up there was tribute.
Learn English!
I did, the difficult way.
And now i teach it.
Listen and learn.
(Still looking for that naughty operatic video.)

4:21 PM
@humn כל הזמן שומעים.

Understood and appreciated.
!
To speak every language!
I don't even know which that was, but it was well understood.
Aramaic?
Made me call my English (Music) teacher.
She said, "Call back in 5 minutes."
I'll give it 10. She's not the best with time.
@Mithrandir you are my soundmate.
I undertand every word.
Thumpy beat or not.
But any minute, MusicLoverTeacher will call again.
(Oopsie, "undertand" = "understand")

4:38 PM
@humn Hebrew. It adopted the Aramaic script several thousand years ago, though, so you got the script right ;)

I so linger language!

...around 600B.C.E., apparently.

Thank you so much for recognniszance, @Mithrandir. Enjoy the lipride.

5:01 PM
And @MusicTeacher called.
She gives me happy feet.
I told her i'll tell the world.
She taught me more English.
How much English is enough!?!
It's the trashiest language. Just can't get my fill.
Still trying.
(Again, not my native. Just my playground.)
^ That means more than you'll know. Even after first decoding.
I have three lovers.
Each unique.
One makes me feel truly loved.
One makes me eloquent.
One makes me feel.
Live so long.

Q: A riddle for a kid

crayonHere goes the riddle: I never do offend you Yet you always whip me, Which do not amend me, Though I dance and skip ; When I'm upright you do like me best, And severely do whip me when I want to rest. What am I?

@humn That would be on-topic at Literature :-)
@humn Oh, I know the Fish Licence sketch well.
