Bernardo Recamán Santosa) Six different rectangles, none a square, have all integer sides chosen from a, b, c, and d. Q: Quite the Namesake

Dopplegamer Me and a friend of mine named O were once trapped in a room with a shapeshifter (long story). I had a gun (even longer story), which was good because me and O needed to kill the shapeshifter (possibly the longest story?) Unfortunately for us, the shapeshifter had transformed into the perfect lik...

Q: A donut, a piece of string and a pair of spectacles

loopy waltThis is a simplified version of this physical puzzle. I believe it captures the essence at much reduced complexity. Please, forgive my poor drawing skills. The goal is disentangling the orange torus from the other stuff. The other stuff being the red double torus and the grey string with balls a...

Q: Fifty countries – A letter from Gladys

Jafe Letters from Gladys are geography-themed standalone crosswords. Each puzzle has five thematic answers, which are places, sights or landmarks in or around a certain location (in this case, a desert). Each thematic answer is notable enough to have its own article in the English Wikipedia, although...

in the c4 my working theory is that "nice, nearby one" clues a place name near Nice
CANNES is near nice and the can is the cooler (prison), but otherwise don't see how that would work

@Jafe Great crossword by the way - genuinely difficult but a lot of fun too :)

glad you liked it! that one somehow took way more work than the others, despite them all being the same size
or maybe it just felt like it did

I spent faaaar too long on 1D, thinking that the 'sand ridges' were another Kalahari location. Bit of a facepalm moment when I worked out what it really was!

hehe i thought that might be tricky since "on" has so many meanings

well monaco is nearby nice, also has the word can in it (backwards), and used to be ruled by prince rainier, but I can't figure out how you could possibly get that from "drinks a cooler"
or even "one drinks a cooler"

What cools your house?

ah!
mon(ac)o

That's it.

aaa

thanks for the tip haha

i looked at monaco and even googled things named monco!

yeah I went to monco too lmao

Nearby Nice would have been a better definition, but I needed to obfuscate the capitalization.
Trying to parallel park in a stick shift on those hills was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

didn't scratch any ferraris, i hope

Nope. But I had to use the parking brake a lot.

Hm. "and" in French is "et", of course, but in Monegasque it's "e".

Around And could be VERS ET but it doesn't get me anywhere.
