@Deusovi The answer to your puzzle is indeed not inane and meaningless - that was in reference to "Why, it's a 1, of course"
The intent of my series was to argue that encouraging a non-rote procedure as a way of solving a puzzle is not necessarily sufficient to make it a good puzzle. The Odd One Out puzzle, while solvable through non-rote procedure, didn't clearly leave a way to solve the Carbon Copy group - it is possible to get the answer without it, but that leaves things unresolved in a way that feels distasteful.
At least, I feel it's distasteful. Whoever just likes getting answers will probably be fine with it; I like to understand the underlying reasoning as well.

The Carbon Copy group was solvable.

with hints
anyways, meh
in the end, I don't feel it was a great puzzle, maybe you do
and so that's that
I gave my opinion as to why I felt that way, but there are no bad feelings towards the puzzle or the puzzle-maker; it was just not great for me

the Carbon Copy group was indeed solvable -- it was one of the first ones my testsolvers got, and another group got it fairly early on too
and the puzzle was designed so you don't need to get all of the groups

@skullpatrol Only very passively... been reading about the fight. Should be interesting!
What do you want to see?

I wanna see a knock out :D
The weight in was amazing today.
Both men put on 17 lbs since their last meeting.
AJ has got his work cut out for him when he meets the winner.
@mbingo who do you like?

I guess I just kind of like the legend of Wilder vs the one who could possibly take him down. I don't have enough stake to prefer one or the other... but a KO in either direction would be amazing.

5:27 AM
Yup, that's for sure!
GREAT to see the heavy weight division come back to life.

@skullpatrol You a long time fan?

Yup, since the Ali days.

Awesome :D

I lost interest during the Wladimir Klitschko 20 year domination.

Did you still follow the other divisions in the meantime?
Was Klitschko as dominant as Wilder is now? More? Less?

5:37 AM
Much more dominate.
They say he held the championship longer than Joe Loius.
Joseph Louis Barrow (May 13, 1914 – April 12, 1981), known professionally as Joe Louis, was an American professional boxer who competed from 1934 to 1951. He reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949, and is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. Nicknamed the "Brown Bomber", Louis' championship reign lasted 140 consecutive months, during which he participated in 26 championship fights. The 27th fight, against Ezzard Charles in 1950, was a challenge for Charles' heavyweight title and so is not included in Louis' reign. He was victorious in 25 ...
That^ is where Wilder got his nickname.
Klitschko changed the heavy weight division weight limit from 190lbs to the current 200lbs. @mbingo
That^ is dominance

CCCC hints: 1. "A safety worker" is a unit. 2. "no gin cocktail" does not clue an anagram of "no gin". 3. The sixth letter is G.

(Well, of course it is.)
It's letters 1-5 that are harder to find.
(I have a conjecture for a couple of earlier letters too but it's probably wrong.)

I rejected this edit as vandalism because it seemed to be introducing weird characters into an otherwise sensical answer. Having checked the question, I now realise that those characters are actually part of the OP, so I messed up. Can someone else please approve the edit :-)
