@Jean-MariePrival I don't think "rant" is the correct word here. Now that you have better information available, what's stopping you from editing the Wikipedia article yourself?

@uhoh Sorry if the word was inappropriate, not a native speaker. I've never witnessed this so it was based on "hates", which is quite strong already.
I won't do the edit because my stratigraphy is quite poor, so it would add a filter of my (poor) understanding of the source (David's answer) to the article...
It's better that the original poster does it than a third party.
This got me looking at the equivalent of "téléphone arabe" in English and apparently it's Chinese whispers! Funny how the language changes depending on the country. :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_whispers

IMO you all are overthinking this and taking things personally for no reason. It's just a website.

Yeah, I just don't see how someone can "hate" Wikipedia. It's a wonderful tool. It has its flaws of course, but the beauty of it is that anyone can fix these flaws.

@Jean-MariePrival I understood what you meant no problem, and I might "loosely" call some of my posts, David's posts, and many others as "rants".
The problem with chat rooms like this is that they are 100% open to the internet, so I try to only use "joke words" about people when I'm chatting directly to them, but not when talking about them without their knowledge.
Ya I understand the reference to the game also ;-)

Maybe hate was not an accurated term. I didn't call him because he don't frequent this chat. I think David wouldn't be offended. I remember once he wrote "wikipedia is not a trusty source"

wtf is going on meta. I've been away for a few months and there's so much drama

ebv a partner from spain left the site and made a drama. other user complained about I don't remember what. after that meta is calmed boss. the id questions are being deleted, there are only 60 from the 500 and we no longer appearing at google so no receiving questions
after that user Walsby is creating troubles
comments like you are cheaters downvoting me. moderators are drunk of power
you are like those on Britain that do not acept Brexit
I think an aged man
but the issue id
was major and is solved
we are ading that pop up of needs sources now

@Gimelist Do you mean Meta Stack Exchange or Earth Science Meta?

gerrit has made a change to the feeds posted into this room

I've added a feed for Earth Science Hot Network Questions. Any new questions should now appear here as soon as they hit the Hot Network Questions.

thanks gerrit
At main meta @Gimelist they fired a mod and they publicited in press she was a bigot. There was a 30.000$ crowfounding to sue stackoverflow for difamation.
I think they made an agreement. They recently changed license system so programmers are a bit angry with the company
The 30.000$ gonna go to LGTBI collective
The main discussion was on code of conduct. But I don't know. Cellio is professional writer
Maybe gerrit could add more data about what happened on main meta
It was a discussion about pronouns, transgenders involve. I read a post from a transgeneder saying stack didn't act well

Q: Antarctic and arctic meltwater is "bad" because it's dark, but why is transparent liquid on white stuff so dark?

uhohThe Washington Post's Antarctic heat wave melted 20 percent of an island’s snow cover in days, caused melt ponds to proliferate includes the figure below of meltwater ponds on top of snow/ice. The article is a good read, but my question is one of optics, namely what makes a pond of meltwater (es...

@Gimelist If the former, there is an overview here, enjoy...
If the latter, not too much.

@gerrit A lot of the posts say who resigned and who got fired and who got angry, took me a while to see what's the underlying reason
I don't pretend to fully understand the pronoun issue, but under Network Baclground, my understanding is that the issue is more complex than described. Some people want "they". Others are offended by "they" and want a requirement that their preferred pronoun be used. Some claim that anything other than their preferred pronoun, including use of their username or disengaging, is offensive. Parsing some of this into the timeline seems inaccurate. — fixer1234 Oct 4 '19 at 21:22
Is this why? People disagree about how to call each other?
