It is, which is why I probably should have skipped it. Those thing should be discussed in comments, not in the post. Fail on my part.
btw, this is in the queue as "unclear". It isn't unclear, but is it something we really want to recommend for?
@Gilles Opinion please --^
Someone flagged this for reopening. Until it is edited to address what features you need this is not a well written question so I for one am not re-opening it. @Dirty-flow I'll propose an edit with some blanks to be filled it that will make it better and possiby reopenable. — Nick - BriarMoon Design53 mins ago

@Gilles Maybe we need one to define what makes a question too broad? I suppose we can't allow questions where almost every program in it's class goes.. and yet...

nonetheless, yes, that's the basic idea
I suggest a meta thread “when is a question too broad”
All SE sites like questioners to have done a little homework before asking a question. I take it that this site is no different. So questioners should have looked for a piece of software to meet their needs. I see several questions like "Is there something like x only with feature Y?", which a...
@Seth That one we had in a meta discussion lately. A good practice for those is to first add a comment asking the OP doing that (Gilles had a good template for this), and if he doesn't, we can still delete it (or edit it ourselves, if we feel like).
I've just encountered the tag lightroom. The question using it makes pretty clear what it stands for: Alternative to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?
My point here is: Should we support tags for a specific product? Or should we rather remove them from their questions, so they get cleaned up by the aut...
