I'm just glad that last week went very smoothly technology-wise. That week before it's done is like the calm before a storm that might blow over, or might deluge you in lighting and tornadoes.

@coredump People in the US have a lot of misconceptions as to what constitutes sexual harassment. Basically the only thing covered is if you use a position of authority (typically if you're the other person's boss) to get something sexually related out of a subordinate. There's plenty of ways to abstract that and make ingenious arguments... but it's still what you're working with.

Here's my response on the HTW closed beta's meta re "Why does this site exits and why not just link to howstuffworks.com?":

I love the SE network. SF is of much greater value than expert-sexchange ever was. For the most part (to me anyway), the SE network is about solving problems, not trying to be the be-all end-all of link backs.

SF is definitely the best place to find answers that are really just spam for windows password recovery tools and are deleted within moments - it's easily the best place for that

@Iain because it takes a long-ass time to process that many directories :-)

@Iain I'm relatively confident in saying that the subdirectory limit is lower than the max number of elements bash can process in a list though :-)

@DanBig I don't think it's the end-all-be-all of linkbacks; I think it's more than just getting questions answered, I think it's a better kind of * knowledge base*

and I say that as someone who has hit that limit a few times (broken cleanup code can really ruin your day -- fortunately you can umount a tmpfs filesystem and all those directories go away :-)
