And two hours of tinkering with this dumb ASA I found the two stupid mistakes I was making... First, forgetting which interfaces the ping utility defaults to (the wrong interface in my case) and second forgetting the allow firewall rule to get traffic across the link... sigh
@BartSilverstrim I got one on my FreeBSD box once where is showed Windows Explorer's My Computer, with little virus warnings for the C: drive and My Documents. Just makes me smile.
The best part of switching to a Mac: it's so blatantly obvious when malware authors are trolling Windows users.
@ChrisS: it would have made me smile but it had something in the script that made my FireFox window turn into a @#% postage stamp until I resized it, wondering what the hell had just happened.
Someone at work got a XP style (webpage) showing some dialog; we're running Win7... The user called me and mentioned how the screen looked "different" from normal screens.
We've been switching everyone at work; I'm one of the few without a company phone though, mine's currently a Win Mobile 6.0 that I hate, next will be an Android though.
Yeah, although whatever Rebecca Black's mom paid, it wasn't too bad... like 2k or something. That's like sending your kid on a class trip or something, but not as wise of an investment, imo.
Maybe I'm bitter because I have a terrible singing voice, but I just don't understand people who promote their children's interest in being a singer/actress.
Although one feature that presents a challenge is that in the second one, the chambers aren't as sterile (plants, broken things, etc) so it makes it harder to spot the obvious routes
Yeah, I was at the gym playing Angry Birds waiting for a friend and this guy is across from me and he says "That sounds like angry birds" He was in his 40s. I was like wtf.
Chicago-style pizza is a deep-dish pizza style developed in Chicago. Chicago-style pizza has a buttery crust up to three inches tall at the edge, slightly higher than the large amounts of cheese and chunky tomato sauce, acting as a large bowl. The term also refers to "stuffed" pizza, another Chicago style. While in Chicago most pizzerias serve thin-crust pizza, generally in a style characteristic to the city, the term Chicago-style pizza is used to describe this deep-dish style of pizza.

It's a bit of a 'hot button' for me, I'm a VoD system designer, there aren't many around the world that do that at >100k user consumer grade level, I can probably name half of them, so I get a bit uppity when I see what amounts to a boy doing a man's job :)
Joining the happy club: I just managed to use a registry hack, service restart and group tweak to enable RDP on a desktop for a remote user without breaking their existing, locked desktop session.
This guy for example. He doesn't say it explicitly, but that's got all the smells of them running out of disk space. If he comes back and says they're running out, I have news for them :-)
Unless the question is "name a cool technology that can be useful in certain circumstances but which tends to return far less resource savings than laypeople expect"
Absolutely. MS have always said to ignore SIS savings when sizing Mailbox servers anyway, because you can't totally rely on it to be right all the time. There's so many things you can do that totally blow away the SIS on some things
@BenPilbrow it's U+03A3 - I put 03A3 into word then typed alt-x which converts the unicode immediately before the cursor into it's equivalent character
I use string to tie the tapes and equipment to things in the server room. Seems to be pretty safe from wind that way. serverfault.com/questions/261690/…
Sure. They call them airspouts just so they don't match vocabulary in the US though.
I don't know the big deal about it though. My hard disks spin faster than tornadoes do. They should be able to survive a tornado through a data center. They're built for those speeds.
