Well, wow. What a shitstorm that was
Yesterday when I read back and saw @voretaq7’s message that I linked to in my meta question something gelled and I realised what had been bothering me about chat for some time – this is a sewer. We all need to let off steam unfortunately the profanity has become somewhat the norm rather than the exception.

I was hoping that my post would cause a certain amount of introspection, just like the Snark one, unfortunately people got all dramatic, acted like their PHB wanted all their system passwords and sadly the rest is history.
I’m not actually offended btw but I do believe it’s offensive

Hi Iain. Yes, the storm spewed up quite the clusterfuck but it's (ofcourse) not your fault

It's a valid point/complaint, but I really wish you just said something here to us instead

If you read the transcript for yesterday (it's only 11 pages or so..) you'll see that we eventually all agree, and that certain blue mods were speaking about things they don't know anything about

The stuff that happened with Chopper doesn't have anything to do with it, it just upset everyone BEFORE they got to read your meta post

there was a sense of agreement here later on.. the boobs meme is gone

I saw mods burnout on other sites I was a moderator of for far less than what it took chopper, but that said, I think you'll find he has a lot of other stuff going on. I think it was perhaps 1/5 moderating and 4/5 life that caused the chain of events that set this going.

They told me I could spend up to 2k for a laptop, I settled on the monstrous hp elitebook 8560w

which I only later found out is really only supposed to be for people who do autocad presentations on the road :P

Thing is ridonkulusly overpowered.

My wife has a 17" that, really, is just a desktop that she can take to the other room if need be.
