oi

@FalconMomot that was an impressively comprehensive and clear answer about /bin/false

@JennyD thanks!!!!!
it's good to stretch out the neckbeard at times :P

@FalconMomot It's amazing the amount of obscure knowledge one gets after enough time in this business...

ha, time
my profile picture is actually recent.

@FalconMomot *looks* OK; even more impressed now.
@FalconMomot Mine's maybe 5 years old, I can't remember exactly.

7:11 AM
It's a well-done shot though.
mine is just a random cell phone picture I cropped.

@FalconMomot I've a friend who's a hobby photographer, she went with me to the stables one day. After I'd had my ride and cleaned and put away everything she asked me to just stand still for a moment and snapped that picture. It's my favourite picture of myself ever.

@JennyD nice! Candid too then.
I need one of me flying. I wouldn't let them take one of me the first time I was solo as I needed a haircut badly...

@FalconMomot I think that was what made it good; she captured that moment when I was happy and calm and relaxed in a way that pretty much only happens when I've had a good time with the horse.
@FalconMomot That would be cool! What do you fly?

@JennyD that'll do it

G'day

7:16 AM
hey Iain

@JennyD I know that feeling

My horse is really lame now. That little gash that he has on his foreleg is infected, so he's on penicillin and painkillers and not allowed to stay out all night.

da-20 katana
@JennyD That must be horrible for both of you.

@JennyD :(

@FalconMomot I've never flown; I can't afford one more expensive and time-consuming hobby...

7:18 AM
@JennyD I would be completely out of debt if it weren't for this :P

@JennyD The one I ride is over his lameness and is much looser, had a good ride last night

@FalconMomot He's mostly upset that we're cruelly keeping him in - the painkillers work so he's not in actual pain as far as we can tell.
@FalconMomot I'm not actually in debt over the horse, but it does make it slower to pay off my other debts...

@JennyD exactly. And, I bet; it's good that he gets the benefit of painkillers.

@Iain Sounds good! I'll get a lesson on the older horse on Monday, but for at least a week my own horse will only get walked on a leash... Fortunately he accepts that; I've known at least one other horse who kept arguing that "I'm not a bloody retriever, if you want me to walk anywhere with you get on my back!"

The new close reason proposals are awesome. I'm already using them.

7:23 AM
@FalconMomot The one we use for the horse comes in a 500 ml bottle. A while ago one of the cats had surgery and got painkillers afterwards, the exact same type but in a tiny tiny bottle that I thought at first was a toy or sample or something :-)
@FalconMomot I apparently upset some developer by using them...

@JennyD 500mL!

@JennyD this is a problem ?

@JennyD Really? Poor thing. Links for lulz?

@JennyD and where ?

@Iain Not for me, no...

7:25 AM
as though we don't have a colossal surplus of developers who have no sysadmin experience.

:)

The question here is how can i setup two different names for my own computer. Maybe if you will think of it as a sever, you will get it. I'm running dev server (servers are this website topic, right?), i need my server to be able to route incoming requests to right handlers. think of if as one house, where John and Greg live. Incoming mail comes to same house for both, but one has a name of John on it, and another is to Greg. Same address. — Neara 16 hours ago

though I'm temporarily a developer... hopefully it will clear up soon.

@JennyD Anyways, if you think its not possible to achieve this configuration w.o handling routers, than why not say so and explain why? If you dont know how, than why not say that? or not respond then at all? no shame in that either. — Neara 16 hours ago
"if you think of it as a server you will get it".

Yeah, wow.

7:26 AM
@FalconMomot Apparently I fumbled my diplomacy throw. Again.

That is probably the harshest of the new close reasons. We may want to soften it a wee bit.

@JennyD I saw that yesterday and acted on it. For me a 'localhost' in a question is pretty much in line with 'CPanel' - a great indicator of a poor question

I could reopen it and close it again as HOME USER GTFO...

@Iain I was tricked by her at first mentioning an actual non-loopback IP address... But yeah, trying to be kind at first just makes them more upset when you can't follow through because they don't understand.

morning

7:29 AM
morning dawud

:)

@Iain I agree. I almost want a canonical question for "Why can't I access the localhost interface on one node from another node?"
we see this junk a lot.
Aww, I got downvoted for

A: possible to use ipset and iptables mark+mangle cooperate on linux

Falcon MomotYes. In fact, this is the recommended way to do it.

Is it because I'm a dunce? :P

If it's your own server, why on earth are you using cPanel?! — Michael Hampton 2 mins ago

I really do wish that we could have complex filters so I could list something like if (SF rep <1k and rep on SO > rep on SF and REP on SO < 20k) hideQuestion();

@Iain I think a sufficiently complex userscript could do that, but it would be quite slow...

7:42 AM
We don't really do exact steps; we'd rather help you understand the correct solution to your problem. As a professional, the exact steps are yours to devise. You are a professional sysadmin, right? — Falcon Momot 7 secs ago

@MichaelHampton it could easily be optimised to if (rep on SO > rep on SF) hideQuestion();

@Iain Yeah, but that wouldn't help. It's not the math, but the API calls. To load the homepage you're looking at 150 API calls...

@FalconMomot the trouble with answering that is that it implicitly encourages them and stops the cleaning fairies from deleting them on their Saturday morning office tidy.

We should very nearly create an approval queue for these questions >.>
@Iain Oh, the dark arts reason. I didn't know.

@FalconMomot there is one sort of - the close queue

7:45 AM
@Iain I'm thinking of a more proactive way that doesn't use up all my close votes :)
I am always out of them.

@FalconMomot every Saturday morning at 03:00 UTC the fairies clean the office meta.serverfault.com/questions/2291/… (I think thats still reasonably current)

@Iain that's good to know; I shall allocate downvotes accordingly.
Why, God, why?!

StepchikI have the service, that each second run external exe programs (for example process1.exe) and kill's them. Taskmgr - show only one process. After running service i get minimal free memory availability. Sum of all processes memory and total usage memory not equal. When i run RamMap processes i se...

The upshot of that is, if it's a crap question and you're going to close it, don't answer it.

good morning

@MichaelHampton very much so

7:52 AM
I think this is something folks want to know. For example: stackoverflow.com/questions/8409644/… -- The problem is simply that there isn't much attention to it, yet I think such a question and answer would add value to Server Fault and thus why I asked this here. I did it more for the benefit of the board than for my own enrichment as I could have just gone directly to cPanel support to ask about this, but I felt the community deserved this information. — ylluminate 1 min ago
Noooo... we don't WANT it!

what close reason should I use for this monstrosity which another low-rep user answered in broken english?

@FalconMomot as a low-rep, broken-english user, I must say you just broke my heart

Is it just me, or has the signal to noise ratio on the main site dropped especially drastically for everyone in the past few months? I mean it was already on a slope, but now it's dropped off a cliff.

Feel free to go through the cPanel questions and find any that match this criterion:
> This question appears to be off-topic because it concerns the use of shared web hosting by end users or resellers, rather than the administration of web hosting.

@dawud You are not :)
@RobM I don't find much worth looking at either TBH.

7:58 AM
@RobM SF got popular. Blame search engine optimization.

I don't mind us getting popular. It's the getting popular with fuckwits that I dislike.
3

@RobM yeah - I need to straw poll the front page again - last time I did it >70% of the questions were from people with more rep $elsewhere

I certainly don't think the ratio will have got less

@MichaelHampton Been there; done that
ready to be tried again.

@FalconMomot You missed a few hundred... :)

8:01 AM
@MichaelHampton can you bug a dev to double octuple the quota of close votes on this site?

@FalconMomot Double it? Hell, it needs to be unlimited.

it really does
Do you think it would be well received if I made a meta post about that?
I think I'm going to.

Dan
Morning

hey dan

Dan
@RobM I, uh, barely look now :s

8:03 AM
@FalconMomot Please do.

@FalconMomot I don't think it will help - the limits are there to encourage you to do something else - like go flying/cycling/horse riding etc

Dan
Face it, as SE is now a proper business they've essentially walked away from whatever they were trying to do originally with SF and now want it to be a happy go lucky kind of place where kindly SysAdmins help anybody without ever being sarcastic, cheeky or pointing them to do their own research
Fundamentally, all they're interested in is the bottom line - and having fewer, yet good quality questions don't make money. Just ask Yahoo.

@Iain I don't have my night rating yet, it's cold out and I don't have a bike since mine was vandalized beyond repair, and I'm really not up to programming right now... :)
@Dan There were good quality questions on yahoo?

Dan
@FalconMomot No, and they make money (I guess). That's my point

@Dan I don't think they've walked away from anything - I think it's just more obvious how shallow all the words about communities are

8:06 AM
I nearly said "that goes to prove they've never met a real sysadmin" but then I realised that would be disrespectful to several regulars here :-(

Which begs the question - having met real sysadmins how can they possible expect a community full of them to never be cheeky, never be sarcastic, and to be happy with other "sysadmins" who expect you to give them teh codez
2

@Dan I'm not sure they do make money.

Dan
I've said it before a million times, but I do love this site but the "GIVE ME ANSWER, PLS" crowd make me want to book a ticket to their house and slap them with my laptop. It irks me far more than it should, but it shows a complete lack of bother
Let's face it, in 2013, if you can't fucking Google then you shouldn't be in front of a computer let alone calling yourself an admin

Yes. And I hate people, especially those who are supposed to be in the same trade as us, who can't be bothered to at least fucking try and solve their own problems.

Oh, they can Google just fine. which is how they get to SF in the first place. The problem is they can't think.

A: How to Apply GPO through WMI filtering

DanCatering sounds like a nice easy way to group machines / users, so in this instance, I would suggest that it would be much more transparent and maintainable to apply this to a Catering OU (Or OU's) or a Catering security group. Leave WMI filters for when you have no choice. In my experience, the...

Questions like this just bore me. The OP just ignores you - I don't even know if what he wants to do is possible, but I really can't be bothered to investigate because it's fucking stupid

8:08 AM
I know that SE now have a thriving recruitment business but If I were hiring I wouldn't place an add on SF - I know most of the people who would see it are clueless

Dan
More than anything, though, is that I think it's been made relatively clear that we're not allowed to deal with it in the way I see fit
What's the end game? Does it need to be scripted? How do you need the data? what are you planning on doing with it? You can do Resultant Set of Policy on a DC or End Device. Or, you may be able to use Group Policy Modelling on a DC. — Dan yesterday
Even that comment got edited - all I put was something like "Thanks, Captain Obvious". Is that really deemed offensive now?

@Dan Oh, come on. Even extraordinarily witty sarcastic comments get removed.
@Dan That's not even funny.

Dan
@MilesErickson I didn't say it was funny, but was it moderation worthy?
Because if so, that just starts to make the place bloody dull. I thought I was here as a SysAdmin to help and chat to other SysAdmins. But, if I'm simply going to become some kind of crappy sanitised help robot, unpaid, on behalf of Stack Exchange then I've got better things to do
2

Greetings. I am Stack Exchange UserBot #406. Please read the FaQ. If you feel you are being abused, find something vaugely offensive, or doesn't like the way your computer looks at you, feel free to flag anything.

@Dan I recall having many moons ago posted a comment indicating that the asker of a question about Telnet (probably in the context of opening external firewall ports or something) was a time traveler from the early 1990s, before SSH had sufficient reason to exist. It probably got some upvotes, but it definitely got deleted.

Dan
8:16 AM
In my defence, though, my comment was totally valid which is why it was edited I guess.

Possible duplicate of serverfault.com/questions/512488/…;, note the OP does not specify a service, what is APF anyways? — dawud 12 hours ago
check that one
the OP took it nicely, even if I was joking a bit

Dan
@MilesErickson Did you click it by the way and read the 3 messages? You'll see why I replied like that

Greetings. I am Stack Exchange UserBot #406. I'm sorry, I don't recognise the word "joking".

Dan
@tombull89 You can see my point, then?

ServerFault is srs business. Internets is srs business.

8:18 AM
@tombull89 s/joking/webscale/

this is how you end up with more than half your knowledgeable regulars walking away

@RobM like most pink and fluffy things SE panders to the lowest common denominator - sadly this appears to be breathing

yep

Dan
I suppose this isn't a new issue, but it's sure as heck not getting any better. Like I say, I don't really mind that we have idiots turning up - that's just part of being on the Internet, what I do mind is being turned into a fluffy "Oh, well, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" help desk operative

indeed. fuck that noise

8:21 AM
@Dan Makes some sense, but I think it also makes sense for us to be a bastion of civility. On the other hand, I do think it's nice when we can be a bastion of civility with some room for tongue-in-cheek banter.
@Dan Perhaps part of the problem is that the subtleties of such banter can get lost across cultural boundaries.

Dan
@MilesErickson I'm not saying we should be horrifically offensive to everyone, but we're SysAdmins for goodness sake - sarcasm is what we do

yo, we get 24 close votes a day right?

@FalconMomot Yeah, only 24. SO users get 50, though.

Dan
@MilesErickson Well, perhaps - but with all respect we're an English speaking site

@MichaelHampton Oh! Good to know.

@Dan Wait, हिंदी नहीं?

@Dan @MilesErickson ^^

@MilesErickson: What did you call your mother? ;p

Payday! You get paid off! And You get paid off! And You get bought!

can't actually read that

8:24 AM
@JourneymanGeek I suppose if it were Tamil, you'd have had a fighting chance.

yup. ;p

Dan
@MilesErickson What you talking about, Willis?

there's nothing worse than waiting to play with a new toy ;p
(that and an excuse to go elbow deep in a few systems)

Huh, I like the new privileges help page.

Dan
I know it's silly, but I'm just reading that article from Jeff and I do get a quiet sense of satisfaction from seeing how Americans love speaking English. Yeah bitches, you just remember that we owned you.

8:28 AM
lol

As a non-native English speaker, it's true I felt (and will feel) LARTed sometimes by proficient sysadmins (both for my poor english and my lack of sysadmining skills), but that is something you learn to be grateful for in the long run, when you realize you are being given free training

Morning all.

@Dan: then you realise they are doing horrible unspeakable crimes against spelling

@dawud your English is infinitely better than my Spanish

@JourneymanGeek There's an argument that the American spellings in some cases are closer to true English.

Dan
8:30 AM
@dawud I've got nothing against you, by the way. And I do think that the English on the site should be readable, well formatted and so and so forth. But I think worrying about cultural intricacies is one step too far. I'd hate to offend anybody, but is it really the end of the world if somebody doesn't quite get my humour on the Internet?
2

It's us that corrupted it after the early settlers went across. (Thanks, the French.)

Dan
And as @Iain says, my foreign language skills are non-existent so I have a huge amount of respect for the non-native speakers here. Many of them type far better than many people I deal with on a day to day basis in the UK :(

XD
@Dan: I learnt to speak english primarily from cartoons ;p

@Dan Valid, that. I think that tasteful humor ought to be within bounds.

(my parents are bilingual, but chose to speak mainly in tamil)

Dan
8:31 AM
@JourneymanGeek What did you say, sorry?

wait, let me get an anvil and say that again

@JourneymanGeek இல்லை ஹிந்தி

@MilesErickson: no no ஹிந்தி இல்லை

Filth!
(probably)

Dan
@MilesErickson Yeah, I'd hate to use that argument as a defence for being downright nasty or offensive. And I'm certainly not wheeling out the "free speech" argument or whatever, I just think sanitising the site to the point where it resembles a vendor help page is going to make the place dull as hell
2

8:33 AM
@SmallClanger: he said that your mother smells of elderberries ;p

Hah.

@JourneymanGeek Or no Hindi, or something. I've spent only five days of my life in the home of a Tamil-speaking family, not nearly enough to know much of anything.

;p
I've spoken it my whole life and formal grammar still confounds me ;p

@Dan getting a sense of Deja Vu here...

@tombull89 sigh

I love how there's this notion that Active Directory is somehow going to do instant object-relational mapping of custom fields.
I mean, I have no idea, but it seems like a lot to hope for.

Dan
I didn't really comment on that, because yeah, I have no idea if what he wants is even possible. But I have no idea because I've never seen anyone do it, because it's pointless

There, meta-posted.

Dan
@FalconMomot Linkage?

I thought we had a feed... hang on

Q: Why is the close vote quota so low?

Falcon MomotWe have, as everyone I am sure agrees, a great surplus of questions which beg closure. Perhaps the criteria becoming more well-defined is the cause of this. Or, perhaps it is that our influx of off-topic questions is greater than our intake of on-topic users with enough rep and motivation to go...

Dan
8:41 AM
We do....eventually :D
Oh, sorry, our meta - that was laziness on my part. Thought it'd be an SO meta

Nope
I think it's us-specific

I think the feed from meta isn't realtime

@Dan I talked to my artist friend. Unfortunately she's got a few other commissions now so there's no way she can take anything more within the next 3-6 months or so.
But she too recommended DeviantArt.

Dan
No probs, thanks. I'll start browsing - I appreciate the thought :)

@Dan You're wanting to commission some original art?

Dan
8:49 AM
@MilesErickson Potentially, yeah

@Dan I know a handful of actual artists. What sort of thing are you looking for?
I can see where this is going. "Hi, Erin? Yes, this guy I know on the Internet wants a painting. Yes, he's a sysadmin. Yes, he wants boobs, how did you know?"

Dan
@MilesErickson I'm after a wall-canvas size oil painting of mine and the wifes-to-be car on a sunset beach. It's cheesy as hell, and I'm well aware, but I'm hoping for a wedding present as we met at a Volkswagen club so she'll "get it"
The problem I've faced is that many I can find on the internet want a near-exact photo of what you want, rather than being able to create their own composition using the inspiration you can provide

@Dan Hmm. There's a chance. Budget?

Dan
$1000 max, really
I can provide loads of what sort of style I'm after etc, but like I say, I need someone who can take it all in and produce something new
(And obviously photos of the cars)

This answer makes me laugh almost every time I see it:

A: What is the first octet in the external network destination defined by bgp?

OliproSpeaking as a network engineer, your question is incoherent. BGP announces and receives routes - the first octet of an announced prefix is whatever it is (i.e. whatever the engineer configured) Same applies to the router id and the AS number.

aww, the bolding on incoherent didn't come through in the link

@FalconMomot: cause the one thing eviler than a sysadmin is markdown.

Q: Access an external SSH server through a restrictive proxy

CyrilleI'm a software developer. I wish to access my computer at home through SSH. For example, I sometime need to access my personal projects source code to check how I handled specific problems. Unfortunately, I currently work under an over-restrictive and anti-productive proxy that waste a hell of a ...

this guy complains about overkill security restrictions for developers. I feel his pain, that's my daily job :DD

@dawud They do that here too, which is why I've got my personal computer sitting on my desk here.

9:14 AM
How awful is this?

@tombull89 it's bloody awful

@tombull89 It burns worse than

Just as well it was being towed because the driver couldn't prove he had insurance or a license ^_^

Q: Drunk test for cpanel or website?

James SimpsonIs there some sort of plugin for cpanel or at least something I can use on the admin section of my site that will test if an admin logging in is drunk and block them if they appear to be?

That's what happens when you let the cpanel devs design a car

9:15 AM
@tombull89 I'd like to find whoever ruined that pretty car and hit them over the head with it

@JennyD there's no BYOD allowed here. And while devs here can use a corporate proxy that let them use the web almost freely, I was thinking more in the line of kerberos + RSA + rbash when they use a login shell in any of the boxes I admin. I'm sorry for them, but I need to protect the system from them.

@dawud There's no BYOD here either; my personal computer is not connected to the company network.

source of picture - metro.co.uk/2013/06/28/…

The correct solution (though perhaps not the one that you can implement) is to change them out, then. Workarounds for broken sysadmins are not effective in the long term. — Falcon Momot 7 secs ago

Dan
@JennyD My works laptop isn't even on the company domain :D

9:17 AM
@JennyD that's cool. I couldn't even bring my laptop here. Security wouldn't let me in.

Well, I'm not convinced our system administrators have a firm grip on what they are doing anyone want to to e-mail his company? :P

obviously the solution is to have files and files of source code, all printed in

@JourneymanGeek in Braille.

with random ASCII porn

@dawud I can bring whatever I like, but I can't connect it to the internal network. We do have a separate ADSL connection with a wifi that's used for conslutants bringing their own computers, and for us to test the company sites without going through the company web proxy.

9:22 AM
@JennyD lucky you. All we have are this useless 3g dongles.

@JennyD Trawling the ! You rule.

@FalconMomot Also I'm running out of close votes :-)

Yup. I have 2 left, and when they're spent, I'll...
I guess kick off a kernel build and go to sleep. I'm out of normal votes and almost at rep cap.

@dawud One place I worked - all we had was an unsecured wifi connection in someone's home

@FalconMomot When I'm out of mine I'll go down to the perl mines and see if I can hack off some useable pieces for a script.

9:24 AM
WRT the Q about bypassing a proxy, and the A proposed (using DNS), maybe restricting DNS is not enough: blog.strategiccyber.com/2013/06/20/…
@JennyD freifunk FTW!

This looks like the start of a train wreck serverfault.com/questions/519268/…

is "apchane" a typo or an actual software?

@JennyD The perl mines! Such fates...

typo, for sure

@tombull89 wtf?

9:30 AM
Bacon Asylum. They did the Dubstep Kitty comics.

@tombull89 Comics about killing women for being sad. How hilarious. How edgy.

... where's the punchline?

@Iain Like my veiled jab at phpmyadmin?
@Falcon Momot: I really don't understand your point. It has nothing to do about being or not being the admin, it's a technical question. — Cyrille 3 mins ago
ERGH!
right... I've used up all my votes in less time than it took gentoo to update. Night!

@JennyD Oh, so that's what it's about.
I couldn't work it out.

That comic is so wrong. Actually so wrong it generated 3 flags.

Dan
9:42 AM
Naught @tombull89. FLOG HIM

OK, get this. I contacted a vendor for X. They offered Y Z and P Q R S. They've failed to meet expectations when asked for a solution of how to put YZPQRS to make a *network*. All we've got so far is a whishy-washy "we'd put these things together", and no actual reference of how it works.

They've also quoted over 25% on top of list price.

So i contacted my trusted sales vendor that I've known for 5 years, and asked for comparative quotes. No problem, except for one vendor, who won't move the deal registration, as this opportunity was brought to them by the first vendor.
And I'm really pissed off.

Dan
Using iE6, send help

@Dan ships cyanide tablets

what was flagged in this room?

Dan
@LucasKauffman Haha, I've seen all sorts of shit in MASTER
@TomO'Connor Yeah, that's well out of order

9:46 AM
@LucasKauffman A "comic" depicting a man killing a woman for crying.

@JennyD oh noes, the insensitivity!

@LucasKauffman could you maybe clarify what you mean? Because it sounds a bit like you're saying it's bad to react adversely to such a comic.

@JennyD I am currently having the same discussion on the bridge, they don't get my reaction to it either

@JennyD I haven't seen the comic yet, but since it's a comic it's supposed to be satirical

@LucasKauffman Um. If that was meant to be satirical, it failed.

9:49 AM
@JennyD can anyone link it?
like link it and remove it

I'm sure tombull can send you the link, he was the one who posted it originally.
@kalina I remember when I started hanging out here people were wondering why there are so few women around...

tell me about it
in The Bridge, 23 secs ago, by ChrisHateZ
@Blem kalina is feminist extremist. So she'll go mad over anything bad that has women in it.

@kalina Let me guess that they too wonder why so few women hang out there?

Dan
It was clearly an error of judgement and I doubt Tom intended to offend anyone. The Comms Rooms is not anti-woman and does not promote domestic (or otherwise) violence.

9:51 AM
the bridge actually has quite a few, they're just not active during the same hours as the plebs

Dan
Though to be honest, I don't really "get" the joke and therefore I'm not sure if the fact it's a woman is key to it

@Dan I don't think anybody believes Tom intended to offend anyone. Unfortunately, intent does not magically translate to effect...

well, at least it wasn't a link to bestgore or something

Dan
@JennyD It doesn't, no - but you can surely see a gulf of difference in setting out to upset someone and inadvertently doing so

@Dan Certainly. Do you think any of the comments here have been over the top for an inadvertent mistake?

9:54 AM
@JennyD most of the comments here are over top.

@Dan of course, I assumed that he was trying to be funny because he's not an asshole

Dan
@JennyD To be honest, I found your comment regarding "I wondered why there were so few women here" slightly offensive
Nevermind: I'm blind

@Dan I did not flag or otherwise request that @tombull89 should be banned.

It's hitting of at the bridge

yeah, apparently I'm a feminist extremist

Dan
9:56 AM
@JennyD I never implied (or thought) you did. I'm just not sure I like the insinuation that the crap comic is indicative of TCR's attitude towards women

and then some dude linked a picture of a woman wearing a reworked nazi armband and said it was me

no offence but can we not drag in shit that happened in another room here? >_>
other than flagging, of course

Dan
@kalina To misogynists, all feminists are extremists

@JourneymanGeek I didn't drag, I told @tombull89 I didn't approve of his attempted humour and then somebody else kicked off at me calling me names

@kalina It's not a Nazi armband

9:57 AM
ahh right

What the fuck is going on here today?

@LucasKauffman the "reworked" was in the wrong place

@TomO'Connor: thats a good question

@Dan I'm sorry you feel that. But the fact is that when comics like that one are posted, it will make many women feel unwelcome. If killing a woman for being unhappy over a relationship is a joke that people appreciate, I will feel less at home here. And when I started here, there was a discussion (started by others) that there are few women. It's hard to not see a connection.
I will add that I have not felt unwelcome or disrespected here before.
But also that I felt sick to my stomach seeing that "comic".
And that someone who thinks that is funny is someone I can't trust on a personal level.

Dan
@JennyD But that's my point, you've surely seen that it's very atypical of the humour in here. It was clear within the first 30 seconds it hadn't really gathered any laughs so I can't help but feel it's been blown out of all proportion.
