@Federico I don't see the problem: question: why does this engine have these unique features? answer: those features are not unique, they have been used before to reduce noise.
@DeltaLima I'm still not totally convinced (you cannot deny that this is the first time that such a shape is used, the 707 solution, while it could be based on the same reasoning, it is not even loosely resembling the 787 one). I'll give it some more thought.
