6 days to publish a preliminary report, kudos. BFU needs like 6 months for that.
(they literally just published the preliminary/abbreviated reports for January a week or two ago)
Also, NTSB hearing on Asiana 214 right now
NTSB board meeting on the Asiana Airlines crash to be held today at 9:30am. A webcast will be available http://www.capitolconnection.net/capcon/ntsb/ntsb.htm
@falstro well the carburetor is mounted under the engine, with the throttle body pointing up
so if you pump the throttle the accelerator pump squirts fuel into the carb throat, which then drips back down into the air box - so a good backfire can light your air filter
(only really an issue starting the engine - once it's running air gets sucked up through the carb and takes the fuel with it :)
@falstro I got my tickets to the Berlin conference in September. Now I just have to tickets on a flying device so I can actually go, but it looks like it's gonna happen. It'll be my first time in Germany, which is exciting.
@BretCopeland Cool! What date did you say it was? We should meet up, I'll buy you a beer. Berlin isn't exactly my neck of the woods, but I suppose I could go for a trip. ;) Or if you travel via Frankfurt, that's less than an hour from here.
