A few years back I remember reading on a Dungeons and Dragons related wiki about an elf who was a survivor for the previous multiverse/universe, but couldn't find it when I looked for it recently.
I seem to recall she was related to the Forgotten Realms or Planescape (which might be mistaken), lo...
How do I ask statistics questions on this site?
I recently asked this question after asking this question for two reasons.
To get a better idea how drowning works in Call of Cthulhu 7th edition
To use the answer to decide how to run my next game. If drowning chance was too high, I would find a w...
It's all but ubiquitous that a throwing a chaotic evil character into a heroic party can lead to hurt feelings and other stigmata. Some DMs don't even allow a chaotic evil while others attempt to discern between true chaotic evils and lawful evils, where interest alignment is easier to strike a b...
@TheOracle I feel like at least part of the answer to this is that the answers were coming from a practical application of the statistics too — a 6 in 10 chance to survive becomes a lot less the more you ask for that chance to be passed for example.
@AncientSwordRage As an example of somewhere I have used both an image and a quote, see this answer; the point here was to demonstrate that I am getting this from a different source than the one mentioned in the question.
Someone reading the answer with Tomb of Annihilation in front of them would be able to observe that the image of the stat block I provided is a different stat block than the one they are reading based on the positioning of the displayed text within the block.
> If something you want to craft has a market value greater than 5 gp, you make progress every day in 5-gp increments until you reach the market value of the item. For example, a suit of plate armor (market value 1,500 gp) takes 300 days to craft by yourself.
Question: how long would it take an actual blacksmith to craft a suit of plate armor by herself?
> Plate: Two or three days for a breastplate, plus another two or three days for each accessory. Months for a full movie-style knight set, if you want to be able to move.
It was reported on MSO that it is possible for a user to upvote or downvote more than once on a single post (resulting in reputation changes for the author for each vote).
After some data examination, we were able to confirm that this vulnerability exists (it is happening due to race conditions s...
Just deployed a fix for this. We did in fact unintentionally combine invalidated leave close votes with new ones. The fix is in place so this issue should be resolved. Thanks for reporting!
I'm making a game that uses a dice pool rolling system (for my purpose it's always a d12 and no other dice), and I wanted to figure out if making a 'critical hit' mechanic was possible, that is rewarding rolls roughly 5% of the time.
Playing with anydice this set up:
output 1d12 >11
output 2d12 >...
(I struggled to find a "decent" title that encapsulates the issue at hand, so if you have a title idea that fits the question better, I'll gladly take it over the current one)
I recently had a short campaign (3-4 sessions of a few hours each) where we had a rather peculiar group. The highlight of...
I got into a discussion over Discord this morning about whether the Dream spell could be used to kill someone. The claim was, if I remember correctly, that it would only take 6 days/nights because that's how many level of exhaustion it takes until exhaustion leads to 'Death'.
Exhaustion table fro...
Someone_Evil I'd love to play with the python code from your answer, can you recommend a repl or easy environment set-up for it? I always tie myself in knots with virtualenv and pip etc.
