I use Visual Studio Code for Node.js development and it's worked well there, but I've not used it for other programming languages.
@AncientSwordRage The last time (and the first time, and the only time) I did Python development, I just wrote the code in Notepad++ and executed through the command line. 🤣

1:16 AM
@Xirema I use it at home/work for node and/or react.js
@Xirema yeah I can't even get that working sometimes 😅

1:38 AM
@AncientSwordRage I used jupyter notebook when I was learning python.

I'm an ancient ML monster, I just used IDLE to mess around with it.
docs.python.org/3/library/idle.html Integrated Development and Learning Environment, should come with most distros. It's basically just a BASIC prompt. (Hello, have I mentioned I'm an ancient monster?)

@ThomasMarkov I have also bounced off of that, couldn't get my head around it for some reason
But this is 10-15 years ago maybe, back when it was still IPython?

Turns out if you want good in the world, you should go watch 8-12 year olds put on a heavily abbreviated Pirates of Penzance
They’re cute, they sing pretty well, and they don’t get the innuendo
It was hilarious
(until I got mistaken for tech crew by some parent at intermission)
(Still funny but for a different reason. I’m not even wearing black)

@AncientSwordRage You don't need virtualenv. Pip is probably unavoidable. I second Someone_Evil's recommendation for VS Code. code.visualstudio.com/docs/python/python-tutorial

NamquoronWhile I won't question my DM because it is his game and he is running it his own way, I was curious on one of the rulings that was made and wanted to see what the official rules on it were. We are playing 5e and 2 players were downed. I have a +5 to my medicine check and was attempting to stabi...

Q: Eidolon Damage scaling

AndrásEidolons do 1d8 damage with their attacks, and it does not seem to scale. I guess it cannot remain this low at 20th level, but I could not find anything, neither in the Summoner nor in the Eidolon section of Secrets of Magic. I even checked the Summoner feats for "unarmed". How does it scale?

Q: Can the Command spell force a character to Teleport?

Victor BSpecifically, the Flee command states: Flee. The target spends its turn moving away from you by the fastest available means. While I would normally suppose "the fastest available means" would suggest that the character dashes, I was wondering if this would also take into account racial, class, ...
