Does anyone know of any good Voice Modulators?
I'd like to be able to voice the various Wraiths, Banshees, and Witches that keep showing up in my campaign despite my better judgement, and I'd like a way to not kill my throat.

They could speak with regular voices, or you could describe the voice effect without needing to reproduce it.

12:46 AM
I feel like me using regular voices for them is the coward's way out. 😛

@Xirema I will ask what kind of "Autotune" tools my daughter uses. What price range are you looking for? Their studio uses a variety of tools depending on what sound they are trying to achieve, and sometimes they like to monkey with the vocals.
Most of his composing (her husband) is done with an Apple computer or laptop/pad as the base, with some other gizmos as well when he wants to start layering tracks.

Aargh, got no ideas.
Can find plenty of ideas on GURPS forum but only for settings.

Afternoon everyone

@nitsua60 I note your flurry of faq tagging - I wonder if we can get a tag or a quickie for this like How to Ask and How to Answer - best commentary on comments that I've found in meta so far.

So, I'm still trying to learn Fate Accelerated to possibly play it with my family, and I find working from published adventures (at least for D&D) really helps me GM as a starting point (and help me understand how to build encounters and such). So far I've found Masters of Umdarr (which I think was recommended to me by BESW ages ago too), which I like, but I'm hoping for something closer to D&D-genre, if that makes sense.
Is there any published Fate adventure/setting that's closer to Forgotten Realms (or some other "traditional"-ish fantasy setting?)
(And yeah, part of the problem is that "fantasy" is such a broad genre that I don't even know what I'm looking for. D&D-5e's DMG lists several "flavors" of fantasy and I've read through them a bunch and still don't really grok how they differ.)

2:39 AM
I haven't the slightest idea, I'm afraid, I don't play Fate - it's not even one of the things I've tried to play but couldn't find anyone to meet me half-way. Anyone else?

@A.B. Yeah, though I know there's a couple people here who might answer, when they happen to get back to their computer (probably after I'm in bed).
There's been some talk in here of a couple people who were interested in trying it, with hopefully a person or two who have done it before to help keep us on track, but no concrete plans yet. Once I'm done with this busy week I hope to put a date on my calendar and get a few people here to try it with me.

Oh, true, people can leave a message for later on this one.

I was going to suggest House of Bards, actually?
although that's more intrigue-fantasy than adventuring-fantasy

It actually costs money, but I've been alright with the Fate Freeport Companion: drivethrurpg.com/product/120298/Fate-Freeport-Companion
But it's third party and maybe a little too D&D, as well.
Like, yes, there are six D&D stats and six Accelerated approaches, but just substituting one for the other means you lose out on Accelerated's natural pairings for the stuff.

Search "accelerated" on this page of all Evil Hat's free worlds. Many of them are fantasy, in various ways that might work for you.

@Glazius Being "too D&D" isn't entirely a bad thing, as long as character creation is still really quick. Certainly willing to go third-party, and willing to spend money if it's worthwhile though being able to test before committing (like one can with pay-what-you-want) is definitely a plus. Also getting it in physical form if I'm paying is very helpful.

(and a lot of Core materials can be played with Accelerated rules just fine, but I see where that's not gonna be wanted for this.)

@BESW Yeah, I've seen that page and maybe I just need to dig hard into each of them. And their branding is tough to decipher for the newcomer too, Masters of Umdaar's page at DriveThruRPG is all "A World of Adventure for Fate Core", and it uses the Fate Core logo, and it's only in the description and once you get into the body of the book that it says it's actually Fate Accelerated.
Thank you all for all the suggestions, I've got to get to bed and will dig into them all tomorrow. G'night.

That's why I suggest searching "accelerated" on that particular list, it mentions accelerated/core for each world without any further clicks needed.

This somehow feels like an accusatory statement:
> You've earned the "attack" tag badge.
:P
@NautArch I don't really DM, but the Sane Magic Item Prices doc is a useful starting point, along with the Discerning Merchant's Price Guide. The former only includes the magic items in the DMG; the latter includes all magic items released in (almost?) all books up to November 2018, though the creator said they don't currently have plans to update the doc (and that it's just a matter of priorities).

@V2Blast Lol. Is that better or worse than "you've earned the "problem-gm" tag badge."?

6:39 AM
@Glazius Just a note: Your DTRPG link there includes an affiliate tag. Dunno if you intended that (or whose affiliate code it is)

Oh. I missed that, I just followed one from the Fate SRD.

Q: Simultaneous state changes: Demilich Howl

VigilA Demilich has the following action available to it: Howl (Recharge 5-6). The demilich emits a bloodcurdling howl. Each creature within 30 feet of the demilich that can hear the howl must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or drop to 0 hit points. On a successful save, the creature ...

Q: Advice for getting this question about the overseer's major creation reopened

Hey I Can ChanThis question seems complete except for perhaps needing more information about the environment in which the final confrontation will occur. A user experienced with the ins and outs of the major creation spell (and, maybe, the creatures listed in the question) should be able to help the asker with...

@NautArch: BTW, since we're finally back down to 1 pinned message now, you may want to repost the D&D Beyond campaign invite link for content-sharing. (Here's the last time you posted it as far as I know, in case you want to copy/paste.)

@GcL have you had a recent look at the corruption system?
I think it's at the point where it needs a playtest/balance review

Q: Does the bonus action from spiritual weapon break invisibility?

Daryl BagleySuppose a character casts Spiritual Weapon one round, then casts invisibility the following round. Does using the bonus action from spiritual weapon to attack count as making an attack for the sake of ending the invisibility spell?

Does Starfinder have an official SRD or free rules document or something? I'm having a hard time knowing whether what I'm finding is official

8:45 PM
@Medix2 Paizo.com > Starfinder > Online Rules redirects to aonsrd.com (Archives of Nethys for Starfinder) which IIRC has some level of officiality, or at least some "we won't bother hosting our own anymore, use this one"-type endorsement

Oh so those are connected, good to know
I was trying to figure out whether this question's quotes were allowed, glad to know they are

Q: Does the blood hunter gain an additional blood curse at level 20?

jonnybolton16In the rules for Matt Mercer's blood hunter class on D&D Beyond, the description of the Blood Maledict feature (essentially using blood curses) states that you learn a blood curse when you gain the feature, and get one additional curse at 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level. However, the Blood Hunte...

@KorvinStarmast You mean one of the magic "shortlinks"?
Like, one could type [comments] into a comment and it'd auto-expand and -link?

Q: Add data.SE style "magic links" to comments

user1228Ask yourself how many times you typed the following in a comment: [meta](https://meta.stackexchange.com) Me, personally, I'm sick of it. Can we have some data.stackexchange.com-style "magic links" in comments? (inn~iff)

(for reference, in case people are spelunking)
Personally, I wish that we could have a couple of per-site configurable ones. (And I believe that request's been made and is part of the new queue.)
