Q: Is it possible to play as a necromancer skeleton?

I am a new DM. One of my players, my boyfriend, wants to be a necromancer skeleton that basically can't die, sort of like Voldemort with the horcrux. We are starting off at level 1. Is it at all possible to do, and if so, how would you do it? I'm trying to be extremely careful not to make him...

Looks correct to me :)

I often use visualizations to teach probabilities to my table mates --- not very rigorous, but gets the job done and often piques their interest in probabilities which is nice to me.

You could visualize this as a 20x20 matrix of results. The diagonal represents successes, which number 19 once we leave out the (1, 1) case.

I've been hearing again and again, from people here in the chat, about D&D 3.5e players needing to understand the tier system and to gain some system mastery in order to create characters that do not over/under-perform when compared to the rest of the party.

What about if I wanted to help my players achieve the level of optimization that's ideal for a certain PF Adventure Path?

btw, @mattdm accidentally posted this as an answer instead of a comment, and was unable to delete this from the app:

A: Can Pass Without Trace affect anyone within 30 ft. at any time while the spell is active, or only those who were within 30 ft. when it was first cast?

Is there another example in the rules where you might make a single check and then use the same result with or without a modifier depending on future circumstances? I can't think of one offhand but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
