I need some help but I don't know if a question regarding a unexplained jump in one drive storage space being used is allowed on this site. Can I ask this kind of question?
00:47
@Toyu_Frey there might be a dupe - but its certainly on topic

I'll copy and paste a link to the question on another StackExchange site where I posted it while I was waiting for permission on this chat.

Q: How to fix my One Drive's storage space?

Toyu_FreyI removed some files from my One Drive account yesterday; bringing the amount of Used One Drive storage space down to 80% full; emptied One Drive recycle bin. I log onto my computer this afternoon; and One Drive says "Your OneDrive is 91% full You only have 433 MB of available space". (Note: ...

And lol, the fourty minute wait period for me to post the same question on Superuser is up!
Here is the superuser link. superuser.com/q/1489568/1098094

Now that I think on it, my computer did do a Windows update last night/early morning when I turned it off to go to bed. Is there a chance that could be the reason for my unexplained One Drive Storage Jump?
In CentOS, how do you tell what compilers you have available?
I'm on putty connection to a centos server from my university. I know there is gcc available, but I want to know what other languages are available. How do I find that out?
I just found out that the server has python

something like that
"command not found" for dpkg
that's because you tried the Debian command, read further down.
Ah! yum

thumbs up Although, I hope you don't always just run the first codeblock you see on a website suggested to you... o_O

@bertieb ay, that's like three months of pocket money. I use ~$20 JBL earphones. They are inexpensive, sound incredible, are very lightweight, never need to be charged, are hard to lose, don't have connectivity issues, are plug-and-play, and easily last me over a year. You're gonna have a tough time convincing me to ever switch to wireless.
@rahuldottech wait till you discover xiomi's wired stuff
they're cheap, pretty tough and sound decent ;p

A: Configuring so that pip install can work from github

DmitryI had similar issue when I had to install from github repo, but did not want to install git , etc. The simple way to do it is using zip archive of the package. Add /zipball/master to the repo URL: $ pip install https://github.com/hmarr/django-debug-toolbar-mongo/zipball/master Downloading/u...

@JohnnyApplesauce As per the answers you linked, you should either run pip install git+https://github.com/libtcod/libtcod.git or pip install https://github.com/libtcod/libtcod/zipball/master.
The former is generally preferred but needs git installed on your system.
Why do I try to be nice?
tracert also shows this second hop back to my PC (0.0.0.0) after that it makes hop 3-4, reaching 5 only once, but everything after that is timed out (6-30). — C493d 2 hours ago
hardly worth it./

Now what?
Wait, how do I check if I have git installed on Windows? I thought I had it installed, and the other command doesn't work either.
type git -v in a cmd and hit return ?
git version 2.21.0.windows.1
404 errors tho something weird is going on there
this at work and you got a authenicating proxy?
can you just click one of the urls, to make sure they load? (they do for me)
It just wants to load a .zip into my most recent folder that I've downloaded into
20:05
yeah, but whatever is trying to connect (curl I guess) is getting a 404
which makes me think a proxy is blocking it, considering i can hit the url fine.
How can I shut it off?
I don't know, are you at work, do you have a proxy server you go via?
I'm at home and I don't know
How do I find that out?
If you're at home then it's unlikely
but odd that it works in a browser.
Any other steps to take?
Nope, nothing checked

Oh hey, it's time for some Windows Updates! <game show music>
Patch Tuesday will now have a whole new meaning going forward...
20:37
o_O?
@JohnnyApplesauce I don't know, something odd is going on and i can't explain it
In the meantime, how else can I download a python package from github? Do I just clone the whole thing and paste it into site packages, or would that be unwise?
21:08
That's how it works, or no?
21:48
Did you try just installing from pip directly? py -m pip install tcod
...I've been trying to install libtcod this whole time.
...they're the same, aren't they¿
They provide instructions on how to download via pip on the github page:
> For those who wish to program in Python you can install python-tcod using this installation guide. Once installed you can follow the Python 3 tutorial or you can find Python example scripts on the python-tcod repository.
