Of course, got lucky, nearly 400 sgd off + they happened to have a newer, better IPS display as a (no cost) option over the TN screen which they were obviously trying to dump
@djsmiley2k how about a laptop that is quick to access hard drive and ram(and maybe other parts)? people use desktops less and less nowadays. Look up HP business class laptops, the bottom comes right off in a second no screws, no prying it open. I got one for about 230 uk pounds.
UK Businesses 10 years ago with an in-house IT Department often used Dell desktops, as many of them have been easily ugpradable. Not sure what businesses do now, I think it's laptops people use.
@djsmiley2k are you trolling? :P I can't really tell... thought you were savvier than that :P
> how do you know if a cpu has a .... gfx in it
well, if it says AMD Ryzen or Intel Core (or Pentium), 99% chance it does have an integrated GPU. there are models that don't, but usually if you're buying a whole computer, those will come with a big honking dedicated GPU to make up for the absence of an IGP (and then there are those systems that ship with both an IGP and dedicated GPU; those are probably more common than those that don't come with an IGP)
integrated GPUs will be fine for desktop tasks but definitely not something you want to game on
also I might be misremembering the Ryzen thing - they might not commonly come with an IGP unless they're in a laptop
@JourneymanGeek the only problem with getting a 660 today is that Nvidia is reasonably likely to drop driver update support after a couple years -- maybe 1 or 2
if you're looking for a budget GPU today I would buy Pascal at the oldest, so a GTX 10-series; or AMD Vega at the oldest
although there aren't that many reasons to get a 1050 / 1050 Ti / 1060 vs. a 1660 when the latter is on an updated architecture and should have an even longer support life, unless there's a price difference you just can't afford
Given the age of the game, however, Raven Ridge can do this without a graphics card.
(but if you can, wait a bit for desktop Picasso, Ryzen 3xxxG, to come out, as these will benefit from a half-node die shrink to 12nm and feature a number of performance and efficiency tweaks)
It's likely that any recent Intel desktop processor can run the game as well without too much difficulty but high resolutions may still push the processor graphics beyond its capabilities.
I'd still suggest getting a GTX 1050 and upgrading later if necessary.
Brazilian Presid. Bolsonaro and the ministry of education say they will no longer invest in courses such as sociology and philosophy, which means they will eliminate these courses from public Univ. They have been claiming social scientists destroyed the country and its youth.
