@bwDraco Sterling silver is 92.5% silver, (usually) 7.5% copper. The copper part, and the presence of hot water, reminded me about computer liquid cooling and how Al and Cu in the same system will cause the Al to experience galvanic corrosion, resulting in cooling system failure (hence you don't mix the two).
