@djsmiley2k Remains of a tooth you had removed?

Was cleaning my raven amulet... TIL using aluminum foil, baking soda, and aluminum foil removes tarnish from silver.
Sterling silver is 92.5% silver, (usually) 7.5% copper. The copper part, and the presence of aluminum foil, reminded me about computer liquid cooling and how Al and Cu in the same system will cause the Al to experience galvanic corrosion, resulting in cooling system failure (hence you don't mix the two).

This whole process is a matter of making the aluminum oxidize in place of the silver (and copper), by using galvanic corrosion.
It's nothing new, but I just realized this was basically the same reason you don't mix aluminum and copper in a liquid-cooling system.
TIL galvanic corrosion can work in your favor :)

Most people just user silver polish :)

Well... s/oxygen/sulfur/g.
But it is fundamentally galvanic corrosion.

Had to physically file down the lip on the enclosure because it blocked some USB cables from fully seating into the receptacle.

9:49 PM
I bought a Cooler Master keyboard that had a removable cable like that. Ended up taking it back.

Ow. That's spinning-rust slow.
Average latency on a full drive is still some 5 ms. That's almost as slow as a hard drive. 117.66 ms 99th percentile latency is outright bad.
QLC is clearly not ready for prime time.
