@TomWij Yeah, that's the way the system is built. Also, we have to manually merge every few days due to migrated questions etc.
Tags are heavily cached, and probably the reason why it's a manual merge, to check and make sure each one is relevant.
Also, with the voting system, auto-merge is dangerous if a mod doesn't approve the merge. I have had to fix double merges a few times already

@Shinrai It's worth every cent. Like every apple product. I have 2 expresses running my wireless N network, extended, and I NEVER have to reboot them except for power outages
My last MacBook is 4 years old, and still gets 5 hours battery life on the original battery7
Oh, I'm not debating that they generally make good hardware, just that I thought the routers etc were a total ripoff. (I don't remember the last time I had to reboot my router, to be fair hehe)

You can hold down Option while selecting, your cursor should change into a plus sign, then you can select rectangularly. This works in nearly any application, by the way.
You can use the Activity Monitor application. It is located in /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app. And here is a screenshot with the columns for memory usage highlighted:

@Shinrai I have a quad xeon (P4 era) under my desk, 10 scsi bays and more... got it in an office clearance and never used it once :( wish I sold it at the time... probably only worth a few pence now... or more in scrap metal, it weighs a tonne!
the thing is though, the quad xeons, it looks cool.... but, I plugged it in to a monitor and it uses about 4 amps.... I could buy a Core I5 and it will probably run faster and pay for itself in energy savings within a few months!
mind you, I wonder.... quad dual core xeons, vs 1 I5 - the I5 is a lot newer and will do standard stuff a lot faster, but I wonder if under load (e.g. 100%) the xeons will come in to their own
