Q: Display a "Happy Birthday" message when a user logs in on their birthday

Today is my birthday. I was disappointed to see that when I logged on to SO I was not greeted with a "Happy Birthday" message. Can we display something (maybe through the notification bar?) when someone logs in on their birthday?

I have one partition with Windows 7 and no CD drive. If I shrink Partition 1 and make a Partition 2, then install Windows on Partition 2, will I be able to reformat Partition 1 and reinstall Windows there?

(my USB stick is too small)

@Corey well, you will be giving yourself a lot of headaches doing it that way...

If you can, copy ALL the Windows drive ISO contents to the USB stick without the install.wim (that should only be less than a GB), then also have a uncompressed copy on a partition on your system.... boot in to Windows PE from the USB stick and then don't click next/run, but press shift f10 and type d: (or whatever the drive is) and run setup from there...

you should be able to install direct to partition 1... however, I am rather confused by what you actually want to do...

that isn't exactly true, you just need to set the partition to active

but if you want to do a clean install, as I said, the easiest thing I can think of will be to shirnk your drive, copy the entire CD there, then boot from "something" to Windows PE (I think you can do this with about 200 megs), then launch the setup from that drive

ya @studiohack it wasn't a pleasant ride... it was actually kinda funny though... it got real cold (for AZ standards) and I was shiverin real bad and achey all over last night thinking that it was due to the cold (since we hadn't turned on our heater at all yet) and then my wife cuddled next to me cuz i was really warm... turned out i had a terrible fever

A: Strange directory under C: of Windows 7

Googled the KBxxxxxx numbers, shows that the folder contains a .NET Framework setup. It is safe to delete as it is solely an installer...

Pray! First up, accidental deletion (file or partition) It does not matter if it is flash memory, external hard drive or other, treat them the same. The most important thing is to STOP using it, any sort of file creation can ruin your chances of a recovery. If you are talking about accidental...

right.... side tracking, and a bit impulsive.... so many people say that I explain things well and for the past couple of years, I have been wanting to write/record very simple (animated/demonstration) on how basic computer concepts work.... It's my birthday and I am so annoyed at the things I haven't done yet... I want to get moving! When people say I explain things well (like that answer) it just spurs me on to this idea...

Odd timing, I'm retooling my photo collection right now

I have a 2TB WD Elements + 100GB hard drive to spread them, but I still don't feel too secure about it...

Is there a function in Adobe Bridge that'll automatically group photos by date taken?
