When we left off, the party was discussing their confrontation with the police, and had just noticed that the fire elemental in the grill is merrily eating all the charcoal and getting bigger.
Fin turns to Sherri and says "It's ok for you, Ms Perfect Laundry. Why aren't you covered in soot? It's like my book doesn't even understand what clean means!"
"Oh, is that all that's bothering you, love? A minor magical trick to clean myself up?" Sherri crosses her arms. "It's hardly my fault, love, that you and your favorite book have no fashion sense or need for hygiene."
"No fashion sense!?" And Fin rests her hand in a hip, "No hygiene? Do you think I chose to wear rags and a stolen jacket? They don't have showers in slums"
@bobble You locate a section bar that is titled “How To Remove Unbound Elemental Constructs.” The section dictates that when removed from their fuel or natural element, the elemental will weaken considerably, and that if their binding circle has been deactivated and they have no fuel they will naturally dissipate in 4-5 minutes.
"Yes, no fashion sense or hygiene! At least Teri over there has that jacket and the sense to wash her face once in a while. You were in my apartment, you could have taken a shower. Borrowed a shirt or something. I don't know, darling, but I haven't seen any effort."
With great effort Teri manages to lift the now-larger elemental above the grill, cutting it off from the fuel supply. It immediately stops growing, but bwooghs unhappily at Sherri. ”buuut wannnnNNTTT FOOODDDD.”
Sherri continues, shouting over the car alarms: "You were a GUEST in my HOME! Have you never gone anywhere before? Done anything? You have no idea how to behave!"
Teri shakes her head "Sherri, could you answer concerning the speech of the elemental I have fl-OATING ABOVE THE GRILL?" (end is louder as she tries to be heard)
There is a loud creaking sound of metal. In the distance, sunlight flashes off bumpers as the beeping cars slowly float up into the air and hover there in time with Sherri’s shouting. It’s as if the stronger her emotions become the more the power intensifies.
Flipping to the appendix with definitions, Teri tries to figure out whether "dissipate" means "die" while simultaneously trying to figure out whether she cares.
"Look, Sherri... I'm sorry ... I didn't go through your things... I just... I ... It hurts that everything here is so different. I didn't think running away would be this hard. I don't want to be in rags and smell like..."
"like kattarþvagi all the time" and Fin sits down in a distressed heap on the floor.
Sherri turns away from Fin, shakes her head for a second, and then blasts the fountain with Ray of Frost in a fit of frustration (trying to freeze it temporarily).
