option two is to apply somewhere that offers full or almost full rides. this is very hard to find, but typically if you are a really qualified student applying to a small college with low quality of students, they will give you a full or 80% ride to convince you to come.
option three is to find a part-time job in college that you are a) confident will last four years, b) will pay you enough to let you save money, and c) is flexible and works with your class hours. may also be hard to find, but doable.
my brother was partially helped out by his college's sponsor program, they chipped in a thousand bucks on his tuition and he had to write a thank-you letter to them every semester. but it helped out a lot
these are all things to look into, especially if you feel you might have gotten into National Merit - many colleges offer full rides to Merit kids.
there are options out there, you just gotta be a lil creative :)
and if all else fails, it sucks, but student loans are a valid option even if they can be difficult to consider
> Alternate entrants must later send NMSC (College Board code 0085) an official report from an SAT taken between August 2020 and June 2021. NMSC must receive scores by October 15th. NMSC will use a student’s best Selection Index, but will not superscore. We recommend alternate entrants designate NMSC as one of their 4 free score reports included with SAT registration fees.
That either parses as "Students perhaps may not get their scores until after the Alternate Entry deadline; and that's okay" OR "Students rae not allowed to receive scores after the Alternate Entry deadline"
@bobble > To determine National Merit eligibility, students may submit an SAT instead of a PSAT, as long as they have taken an official SAT between August 2020 and June 2021 AND have not taken a PSAT in the 2020-21 school year.
gray if you introduce a small orphan child NPC that rio adopts and then the child turns out to be some eldritch horror or something, i will never forgive you :p
I'm not sure if it matters, but whatever genetic thing that messed with Tifer's puberty (so he didn't get a growth spurt) also means his voice never changed
Oh, ninja agency also will accept anyone who manages to get inside far enough without being caught (as long as they can make sure you're not, e.g., a spy)
If you can out-ninja them they're like to have you
My main work on the ninja agency was making lots of ways for people to join so PCs had more options for backstory
Also - I was planning for this to be either 2 or 3 PCs (among North, Gray, Sciborg) because it would be my first time DM-ing and keeping a smaller group where I know everyone can meet up at a certain time is sorta necessary
mmm - I think that there is a little bit of bitterness there... but also they legitimately don't understand why people throw away such useful stuff ^^;
As far as I can tell from reading new-DM advice, if I design the Evil Plan with 3 intended ways for you to stop it, you'll come up with a fourth crazy one that somehow is better than any of the others
Well as an example, I didn't expect that scene to go on as long as it did ^^;
You can never be sure what your players will do... the best advice is to have a vague idea of what the NPCs are trying to do and try to fit those intentions around the players ;p
I feel like Scrap is either a druid or a monk or a fighter or a barbarian or a ranger...
With or without the ability to have charges instead of 1/day. They may just require the are "taken out" for a mission and returned "or else" at the end.
You can have brooches that are not only to identify your membership to the other members of the guild, but also to let them speak to each other at a distance quietly. Or in fact, be contacted by a mysterious head ninja for "INSTRUCTIONS".
Ink's ears flatten and tail twitches, not very happy with this response. "What I am more concerned about it why all these dragons are being slaughtered..." He mutters in Sylvan to Lae.
"Two dragonborns..." The girl nods. "Yeah. I don't remember their names, but Varlan hired them to go out and..." She trails off. "Look, I don't know why he wants to kill dragon hatchlings, that's none of my concern. Scaly bastards are all evil anyway. Maybe he's looking for something."
He growls. Lae slightly unsheathes his rapier and attempts to intimidate her. "Look, you tell us everything you know, or it's not going to be a pretty scene here."
She winces. "...Okay, look, sometimes I hear him muttering to himself when he's alone. He talks about needing to make the Mistress happy and find the Child. That's all I know. Maybe it's some kind of dragon cult shit. But that's all I got for you. I'm just a goon, okay?"
She shakes her head. "No clue. Maybe it's some kind of ritual thing. Or maybe he's trying to make the Mistress or whoever happy. I couldn't figure it out myself."
"You better hurry up and get to him, then," she says, and seems genuine now. "If Varlan finds him, I don't know what he's going to do, but it's not gonna be good. I hope somebody's helping him hide. You should find him."
"Nat would like you guys," she says, as she climbs clumsily aboard her pony. "If I run into you again, I'll remember you didn't kill me. I doubt a lot of people extend the same courtesy."
In the distance, heading up the path towards you, you see a middle-aged woman who has a heavy limp on one side, leaning on a walking cane as she comes down the road. It's weird, but there appears to be a seagull perched on her shoulder?
She is focused on the road and doesn't seem to have noticed you.
Ink looks up and shrugs at this new person on the road... this small piece of trail seemingly becoming a main street. He stays back to look after the horses.
