I'm using GNOME Shell 3.26.2 on Fedora 26.
The date and time area on the title bar shows the week day:
I want to get rid of the weekday. How do I proceed?
Settings > Details > Date & time lets me change the date but not change how the date is displayed (save for picking the "AM/PM" vs "24h...
I've tried Cinnamon on Fedora too but I don't think they ship packages... my main thing is I don't really care for the UI of Unity or Gnome-shell (and besides, Unity is being killed by Canonical)
I used to use KDE a lot, but stopped around a fairly late release of 4.x, maybe 4.8 or so, after they'd at least stabilized it from the travesty that KDE 4.0 was
just some issues with kwin crashing when I open games sometimes, with kde using a ton of memory and a couple other things (like when I run kwin again, there's a tiny square on top left of second screen, and that blocks the close button)

I'm trying to have multiple clippy prompts and I'm insecure about having a long enough message
How do I get multiple clippy prompts on the screen at the same time?
omg, it works
over a period of ... probably days, you could create so many nested clippy prompts on Cavil that you could OOM my server
definitely need to resource limit the Cavil container
of course, if you did OOM my server, the only negative effects I'd likely experience are (1) Cavil's Firefox would get killed by the oomkiller and (2) leading up to that, if I weren't attentive, page cache (um, L1 ARC) getting eroded would kill performance of other stuff
Cavil would load it, thus sending the request to the local HTTP server :D
@satibel "say hello" is only 8 non-space characters so it won't trigger Clippy; you need 11 characters excluding whitespace after the "How do I" or "I'm trying to" bit
anyone knows what could cause an openvpn server to be pingable after a reboot by the clients but be unable to ping the clients? iptables is on allow all.
There seems to be more than a few computer science/programming Stack Exchange networks (is that the correct term?). Stack Overflow, being the first, has by far the most users, questions, and answers.
What is the reasoning for creating the others, and are there clear guidelines for which kinds o...
@intel Intel engineer: After microcode update, the server/desktop OS crashes. System won't boot. Will issue another update.
Intel PR: Let us say, "higher system reboots" instead of crash.
Intel engineer: Why?
Intel Lawyer: We need to save Intel stock value & avoid lawsuits.
@Taz8du29 It's absolutely patchable; with (1) a CPU microcode update and (2) kernel patches (such as recompiling with -retpoline), Spectre can be addressed. To do so with no or minimal performance impact requires new CPU hardware.
