To whoever downvoted: A downvote on an answer without an explanation as to why, doesn't belong in the stack exchange community. If my answer could use improvement, modification, or is wrong, then leave a comment so I can fix or change the answer.

notice the part of the downvote, great attitude that one has.
You can even not vote on his answer, submit a better answer, and vote his answer down. see this meta on voting on his answer even if you submit your own
The user complains about no feedback, I in an act of concern, wanted to place him back onto the community roads when it came to voting. So I end up giving him feedback, on his answer, and he ends up saying he doesn't agree wit it
Which is the exact reason I didn't bother in the first place. Most people could careless about feedback, once they see that negative vote, they normally will never agree with whatever you say. As I said an futile act. There are exceptions which is the reason I even bother.
@nikobradshaw the "Comments" section on an answer is reserved specifically for the purpose of commenting on something without detracting from the actual answer. Please stop arguing with reputable community members over something that is written in stone. — var firstName2 mins ago
@varfirstName Not sure that's helping :/ Trying to tell someone to stop arguing when they aren't really arguing will just make them even more defensive. He seems to genuinely be trying to understand. (Also, I apparently can't type at 5:40 PM)
I think if you make 3 chat line comments in a row it increases the size of your gravatar dynamically and it points to a different image, which in your case isn't the same gravatar, though it may be a caching issue on our side
Hey yall finally figured out how to join this... Sorry didn't mean to clog up the comments section discussing this! I swear I saw a link so you can chat about the answer in a chat rather than the comments but I couldn't find it again.
My profile picture changed 5 minutes after answering a question. I did not change it myself.
It used to look like this:
Now, it looks like this:
Why did this happen? Is this an update or something? How can I revert back to the old default profile picture?
Again I did not change this. Th...
If you happen to have a high-res backup of the old one, you can upload it. Otherwise there's nothing we can do. We have zero control over this issue - it's all on their side. — animuson ♦21 hours ago
I can be rather boring. Ever since I first signed up for this place I've had the same red "flair" gravatar pattern and never bothered to change it. As I type the familiar red one is up in the menu bar. But the one that was on a post I was just looking at was a different color, and a different pat...
@Ecnerwal I expect gravatar will fix the problem pretty quickly; some of my colleagues report that yours now work correctly for them (but some other ones are broken in similar ways) — Marc Gravell ♦Aug 23 at 18:00
@nikobradshaw - Its fine. My issue with comments, specifically surrounding feedback, is a complicated issue. So when a user like yourself, complains about a single vote, and then pollutes their answer with said commentary it gets noticed. In the end my issue with feedback has nothing to do with yourself directly.
@varfirstName I didn't mean to sound hard headed there. I wanted to comment on OP's question to get more info to provide a less general sounding answer, but I didn't have the points to make comments on the questions yet. I did want clarification on the downvote because my answer felt like it did answer the question, but I understand it was because of the comments.
@Ramhound no worries I know you're trying to help, that's all I'm here for too
Users with less than 50 reputation points cannot write comments on questions and answers that they don't own.
Why?
What should I do instead?
But I can't write a good answer without more information!

@nikobradshaw - You would be shocked. there have been people in the past that complained about me. I am a complicate beast. I am a Type-A personality on one side, but on the other, I am an extreme introvert.
@allquicatic and thank you for the constructive feedback! The reason I said "generally no" is just cause it does depend on the system they use, but I didn't want to raise hope and say he could if he had X Y and Z without knowing if he actually had X Y and Z. I still stand by my opinion that a downvote should be for things more serious than an answer that could fit in a comment, but I honestly didn't expect an upvote either. My answer wasn't super great, but it definitely wasn't wrong at all
@nikobradshaw - I never said it was wrong. I have high exceptions for a positive vote though. An answer has to be in an entirely another league. I write the same type of answers I expect out of everyone else. So I try not to be a contradiction.

@Ramhound oh for sure, which is why I added I wasn't expecting upvotes for my answer haha. I just didn't expect a downvote when the answer (albeit short) is correct
Just being correct isn't enough. It has to help the answer solve their problem, or if the question is not realistic (walking to the moon), then be helpful to the community (tell the author and the community how to get to the moon).
I think the fact that the user commented so promptly on that question makes it likely that user12323 or w/e is the same as the OP; thanks for that comment DavidPostill
could also be an artifact of the fact it was migrated from security
@Ramhound Understandable for sure! Just to be clear I don't think you're unreasonable in your line of thinking haha, we just have a differing view is all I guess. I would have loved to have gotten more info so I could have provided a better answer but sadly can't leave comments on the OP's question since I'm in the low point hell.
I'd call him DP, but that only lacks a connotation of extreme potential perversity in forums that are heavily baseball-centric, where it's commonly accepted to mean "Double Play" (two outs on a single play)
I wrote an answer that didn't get the solution marking even though it was more detailed and helpful to OP, he had already ticked the other as solution whilst I was typing
As a disclaimer, I must admit this may benefit me (I haven't checked), but probably not as significantly as most others. This issue is also something that has prevented me from answering questions by users with 1 rep in the past, especially if they are poorly fashioned.

once in a while, during my all-too-frequent visit to the litter box, while I'm digging around looking for a good place to sit (and introducing an alarming amount of clay dust into the air of my house), I pull out my phone and scratch out an answer at the same time:
Generally speaking, device drivers written for an older version of Windows cannot be used on newer versions of Windows. There are exceptions where this is not true, but the safe assumption in the general case is to assume that, unless your manufacturer explicitly provides a driver for the version...

Every job I've been in I've known people who hate the organisation/management/bureaucracy/etc. some way or other. Most find it more productive to stop caring enough than to try and fix everything (or quit when you can't)
