Most people would reinstall their computers; but the SysInternals, WinDBG and WPT tools are pretty nice if you want to get your hands dirty and fix it. :-)
The election page sidebar states that Stack Exchange elections use the Meek STV vote-counting method:
After 4 days, the final voting results will be freely downloadable from this page forever, and we will calculate the 3 winners using OpenSTV with the Meek STV method.
How does it work? I su...
Okay, let's say you've picked A as your 1st, B as your 2nd and C as your 3rd. Once A doesn't stand a chance because he's not getting enough votes to make it, (unelectable) you're 1st vote will be transferred to B and C, depending on how well they do.
@TomWij Well it's calculated, if A only gets one vote in total (from you) there's no way he's getting elected at all. There's a mathematical formula to calculate this vote quota
@tintincute Well it depends, if you want to display an "under construction page" when people visit mysite.com, put it in the root. If you want people to see it when they visit mysite.com/test1, put it in test1
@BloodPhilia: So, I think... It only takes into account the choice A votes. And the last place gets dropped, then the votes are transferred to the choice B for those who had the last place as choice A. And then it starts over to drop the last place. This until there are three candidates left.
@BloodPhilia: I already did. And I upload the html I made, I named my HTML test.html and made a folder test1 and upload the test.html here. But then I can't see the wordings I made "This is under construction"
That would mean 100% of your vote would go to that candidate. However if that candidate is ruled out by getting "unelected", your vote will be lost. That would be a shame.

@tintincute That's ok. When the webserver gets a request for the test1 folder, it looks if there's an "index" file and then sends that.
That's why index.html is picked up and test.html is not. (It could also be index.php, index.htm, index.asp, etc. depending in your server's configuration)
I have reached the limits of Gmail forwarding. Before there was no need to verify forwarding addresses. It's a problem for me now because the addresses I want to forward to are not natural inboxes but automated systems with no way to track the verification email contents.

@IvoFlipse It's about fetching the mail with sendmail/postfix, which are server utilities for Linux... The OP is looking for a way similar to Gmail filtering.
Meek's method of STV is an iterative process that approaches the will of the people asymptotically.
TL;DR Your vote, valued at 1.00 vote, is applied to your candidates in the order you rank them. Each candidate only uses as much of your vote as needed to become elected (shared evenly with all wh...

the TL;DR bit at the top is wonderfully concise :)
@tintincute There are lots of different implementations of the same general idea. You should probably check on SO, they have tons of lightbox related questions, including the (dis)advantages of different implementations.
is there a code where I can use, for example I am using html with Lightbox, this one works well with Firefox but when I view this with IE or with other browsers, it will not work anymore. I remember that there is some code you need to integrate.
This is for you Jeff. We're asking and begging and pleading (and maybe even willing to pay) for some shirts!!!! We know you've got to have some hiding under your bed. Don't you think it's time to share with those that deserve it?
Perhaps to the newly elected mods, or maybe even all those th...

I generally keep my laptop on 24x7, and at the end of the day it's really annoying to have my thighs burnt because over overheating.
The overheating seems to be a result of WMI Provider Host ( WmiPrvSE.exe ) spiking the CPU utilization to 25% every few minutes. Any ideas why this is happening ...
Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is a set of extensions to the Windows Driver Model that provides an operating system interface through which instrumented components provide information and notification. WMI is Microsoft's implementation of the Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) and Common Information Model (CIM) standards from the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF).
WMI allows scripting languages like VBScript or Windows PowerShell to manage Microsoft Windows personal computers and servers, both locally and remotely. WMI is preinstalled in Windows 2000 and newer OSs. It ...

@DMA57361 @IvoFlipse @BloodPhilia do you think I should put a clause in the t-shirt proposal for other site inclusion? I.e. server fault, gaming, webapps, etc?

@KronoS no, because of the iterative way you calculate the results you'd need to start again every time a new vote was added in case it changes the results of the first iteration
Next two days are my last exams, gonna be happy Friday.
@DMA57361: It doesn't take much time to calculate it, it's the entry that might take time. But I guess they import a file from the site as far as I understood the OpenSTV software...
Hi, at first apology for my little understanding about everything and hopefully I am asking this question in wrong place. But can you answer my one question - Is it possible to build a Q&A answer site using SE API which will behave like stack overflow 'in my native language'? (It is Bengali). Thanks for your help
New sites for SE 2.0 can be proposed on Area 51, although "About Bengali" might be possible (but probably is too specific) the "In Bengali Languague" would not be accepeted.
They are discussing about open-sourcing SE 2.0, but it looks like it might not happen.
