@SmokeDetector tpu- Doesn't look legit to me: the linked page is not a product page. It's just an "advantages of..." article. In fact, I don't even think the site has anything for sale.
@Fastnlight I found a spam post of them on Ask Different, "We know that emulators are compulsory for the proper working of video editing apps on PC and MAC. Which of the following is [the best emulator for MAC] that helps in valuable editing of the projects?"
That starts to edge towards edit war territory... Kinda/sorta anyway, not really, but... I dunno. I'd leave them and mod flag instead, being sure to explain the situation fully.
Doesn't hurt to let a mod do their thing. Unless said mod is prone to editing spam anyway... In which case... >:(
@JeffSchaller That pattern looks like it's already caught by Potentially bad keyword in answer and Potentially bad keyword in body Append -force to the command word(s) if you really want to add the pattern you provided.
@GeneralGrievance I don't have all the context here, but I wouldn't see any reason to roll back an edit that had removed spam. I mean, if it's SO, there's probably some corner case, but for me, if it was a spam post, the sooner we can innoculate it and delete it, the better.
In the big picture, yes. Flag it or vote to delete it. I understand if they saw something worth saving in the rest of the post and were trying to clean up the questionable part.
I left a comment to revise their question into an actual question and planned to mark it as "Needs major changes", but after seeing how they were spamming the comments, I deleted the comment and simply flagged for R/A (and also let RyanM take the wheel)
Yeah, I'm not nuking it with a red flag because ... I dunno, maybe they're trying to figure out how something works? But they're getting a time-out, and I deleted the question.
I mean, sometimes my benefit of the doubt is rewarded with more abuse :-p I'm at least half expecting to get a response to the mod message consisting of more random code pasting.
@Fastnlight hahaha. fortunately, you only get one reply to a mod message, unless the moderators respond :)
...fortunately, mods can reply without restriction, which is useful if, hypothetically, you made a copy-pasting error and sent the user a broken link. Hypothetically.
Now that you mention it, I recall reading somewhere that if you get suspended on your parent site, you can't change it until the suspension is lifted. I also recall getting falsely autosuspended on money.se as soon as I joined the site, and my chat privs weren't revoked
This was abused one time too many... As of right now, you have to earn the rep needed to chat; the sum of the 1-point minimum rep for joining 20 sites won't cut it.
To be specific... Here's how this works:
If you have at least 20 rep on any one site, you have chat privileges on chat.stackexcha...
@Fastnlight A suspension can happen if you had a profile before and it was destroyed by a moderator (it applies a 1 year suspension, so you could get some idea when it happened without mod tools)
To be clear, I mean the banner across the profile page "This account is temporarily suspended…" not a moderator message. (Destroyed profiles don't get mod messages)
