Those sites are intentionally putting it in the asker's face that they should have used a search engine, substantially more so than just using an equivalent link directly to the search engine. Using such sites instead of the search engine just adds insult. At least on SO, SE considers using lmgtfy.com, letmegooglethat.com, etc. to be sufficiently rude such that they are blocklisted from being used, and have been for more than a decade (since at least 2012). They are blocklisted on at least some other sites, but, obviously, not on all sites. Over time, there's been considerable discussion about using them and how it feels to question askers to get links to such sites. Most of that discussion has been mentioning lmgtfy.com, so searching for that on meta sites will provide more of the discussion.

@JeffSchaller np. I routinely update the spam wave definitions to account for any FP which they may encounter. The main thing that was restricted how complex the definition for that spam wave could be (i.e. how complex the regex could be) was that it took a long time and lots of CPU on metasmoke to validate the complex regex definitions (e.g. an hour for each change to that regex and added complexity would be so long it failed). I recently made changes to the code on MS which substantially improved that, so it's considerably faster (a minute, or so). There's still more to do in the code, but the regex can be extended for further exclusions. While, of course, imperfect, that one is: 6956 Total / 6931 TP (99.64% TP) / 23 FP / 1 NAA, with the substantial majority of the FP from reports that are years prior to its existence.

This does remind me that I should go back through and work, again, on exclusions which would cover at least some of those FP/NAA. I hadn't done so in any of the previous times I've worked on it due to running up against the limit of what was possible to have MS validate in the time permitted for the request.

Yeah I've seen SIGNIFICANTLY less duplicate-texts where folks just copy + paste the same info into both sections of the wizard ever since they stopped the ability to do that.

Which is great, but there's still a decent amount of VLQ questions that get through that should, ideally, be stopped at the system level.

I'd like to see a bit more non-answer detection in the answer box too.
