@ThomasWard Yeah, unfortunately, as far as I know, I don't have access to the non-MS side of it, so can't get that information. All I know is that SO should have sent an email and that email should have been received by something which generates a POST to MS. I don't see the POST to MS in the logs at around the appropriate time, but do see other POST actions. I did test on SO's side using an email address (at a different domain) which forwards to me and I did receive that test email.

@ThomasWard That sounds reasonable. Unfortunately, I don't have any information as to how it was set up. It was an ArtOfCode/Undo thing, as far as I'm aware (and you've already pinged them).

@JeffSchaller FIRE does format the why data it displays to make it more readable, but FIRE needs to get the why data from MS. Formatting in stock chat is very limited, particularly regarding newlines. It would be possible to have FIRE apply similar formatting to what it uses for how it displays the why data to such chat messages, but it doesn't seem like a high priority, given that actually getting the why in chat is quite rare.

I do consider there to be value to formatting the why data on MS, and it's on my list of things to do.
