@NobodyNada In general, we should be using with cls.gitmanager_lock:, which will handle the acquisition of the lock and release of the lock once it's out of the block, including things like error handling, etc.
@Makyen great, thanks! In the rest of the file we use a finally block to clean up, but I'll go ahead and use that with statement here
@NobodyNada Thanks. Yeah, finally can be used, and is part of what the with will do, but using with is cleaner, less prone to bugs (IMO), and semantically more clear as to what's going on.
@Makyen Agreed, my first thought upon seeing the finally's was "man, it would be nice if Python had a better syntactical construct for scoping locks" :)

@NobodyNada That's partially my fault and I don't even know what locks are. Sorry about that.
the purpose of a lock or mutex is to ensure that only a single process or thread accesses that resource at any given time. The protocol is (1) acquire lock; (2) perform critical region; (3) release lock
07:03
@NobodyNada Nice catch!
if a lock is already in place when you try to acquire it you back off and try again
!!/watch- dinneregg\.com
Can locks be used in a context manager nowadays? That might prevent this problem from occurring again.

Is there guidance available on domain tagging?
Restart: API quota is 16030.
I think I wrote something in Teams once
Yes, that looked like a good start. I was more looking for something like the watch-/blacklist guidelines for MS domain tagging, but since MS doesn't have a wiki (that I know of)...
That post on Teams actually seems to raise a couple of issues while giving guidance, which makes it difficult to see what is and isn't a good idea.
