@ThomasWard I've been lurking in the SOCVR chat for a while and I was thinking it might be useful to provide feedback on SD reports. Somehow I managed to submit feedback on a post, but I think I'd like to request review privilege. Is that possible? I've taken a look at the Wiki and particularly the Feedback Guidance page.
@IanCampbell To answer your question from SOCVR: You were briefly able to give feedback because I very briefly gave you the "Reviewer" role on MS, but then wanted to ping you in chat to ask you to please read Introduction to Participating and the the Feedback Guidance, prior to switching it back on.

@Makyen OK, so in the interim, I'll just continue making unprivileged feedback to SD, and we'll see how it goes?

18:07
@IanCampbell I've added you to the privilege list for SD here in Charcoal HQ and given you the "Reviewer" role on metasmoke (MS). You should run the !!/amiprivileged command to verify.
As has been partially mentioned, it would be a good idea to read through the Feedback Guidance, SmokeDetector wiki, and SmokeDetector commands (in particular feedback).
Also already mentioned: If you haven't already read it, there's an Introduction to Participating in Charcoal.
You may also want to look at the userscripts we have available (GitHub), as they can be quite helpful, depending on how you want to participate. For viewing, feedback & flagging in chat, I find FIRE and AIM to be the ones I use the most.
For flagging through the userscripts, your metasmoke account needs to be write authenticated with SE, which, if you haven't already done so, can be done from the authentication page and doesn't require you to also sign up for autoflagging, although authenticating is also a required step for signing up for autoflagging.
In addition, to enable manual flagging, the checkbox that says "Use my account to cast flags automatically" on this page also needs to be checked. If you have no entries in the "ID Site Count Flags Used Today" list at the bottom of that page, then autoflagging will still not be enabled, but manual flagging through the userscripts will be enabled.

Just so you know, we normally tell people when they are getting privileges that we practice the "ton of bricks" discipline method here: If you mess-up sufficiently, or consistently, we come down like a ton of bricks :-).
To quote ArtOfCode: "TL;DR: ton-of-bricks is mostly to say that we almost never need to enforce things because things enforce themselves through having a good community here. If it gets to the point that someone's enforcing something, something's gone badly wrong."
!!/amiprivileged
@IanCampbell ✓ You are a privileged user.
@Makyen Sounds very reasonable. I'll try very hard to avoid the bricks.
18:09
sometimes the bricks are flashbangs though, esp. if i'm dropping them ;)
so :P
@Makyen I do have some reservations about autoflagging. 99.5% TP rate seems fine enough though
you can opt out of autoflagging
at least, opt your account out of autoflagging ;)
@IanCampbell Correcting a slight inaccuracy: The minimum accuracy permitted for flagging conditions, both each individual condition and aggregate per user is 99.75%. You are welcome to set your autoflagging conditions to whatever you desire as long as it is above that limit (i.e. you could have 99.99999% (to the limit of our data)). Or, you can opt-out, as has been mentioned.
I'm unsure if your statement was with respect to your personal autoflagging settings, or autoflagging in general. I've answered the former. If your question was the latter, I/we are happy to discuss it.
@Makyen I meant for me personally.
I think I'll give it a go and see how it works out.
@IanCampbell Sounds good.
@IanCampbell We appreciate your doing so. The bricks are heavy and a pain to carry around, so we prefer to not have to move them from the pile. :)

21:51
@Daniil Ya know, I answered that in my mind, but didn't actually type it out. :; I'm sorry about that. I don't remember the statistics. My original answer was just winging it from memory, but to give you a better answer, I took a look at the code. The way it works is:
If there are any flag conditions that match the post: The maximum number of flags that the post will get is determined and depends on % probability of being TP and the criteria for each number of flags, which is a setting that is currently that to get 4 flags historical accuracy must be >99.9% TP. Then, the flags are allocated as follows:
SmokeDetector gets the first flag, unless it can't flag (e.g. runs out/too recently flagged/flag banned/random failure/etc.). Of the remaining maximum number of flags for the post, Core users, whose flag conditions match the post, get up to ceiling((max_flags -1)/2) flags. Non-Core users have a priority for the rest, but core users get them if there are no non-core users.
Example: max_flags = 4. SD gets 1, so Core users get up to ceiling((4 -1)/2) = 2; non-Core users get at least 1, possibly up to 4, if SD and all Core users are unable to flag.
Example: max_flags = 3. SD gets 1, so Core users get up to ceiling((3 -1)/2) = 1; non-Core users get at least 1, possibly up to 3, if SD and all Core users are unable to flag.

@Makyen Ok, thanks for the info. Interesting... Can I request that my Core privileges be removed please? Thanks
@Daniil why though

Except that now db dump is broken. :-/
@Daniil Done. I assume this request is in regards to our discussion in your room where you indicated you will not be as active on the site as you have been, due to increasing demands in Real Life™. I think it is the responsible thing to do to limit the autoflags which are allocated to you, as you will not be as available to deal with any potential FP.
An alternative would be to set your autoflagging conditions to a level at or above where the historical record indicates 100% accuracy (e.g. weight > 400).
user435118
@Makyen Thanks, yes it is. For the foreseeable future, I am opting out of all autoflags.
user435118
22:17
@user12986714 See my reply to Makyen above
@Daniil But... You can simply delete all flagging conditions, which effectively disables autoflags
user435118
@user12986714 But then what’s the point of being a Core user when one of the main things is autoflags?
@Daniil If you want to go that route, you can just turn off autoflagging for yourself on MS. If you want to retain the ability to flag through the various userscripts which use MS for flagging(e.g. FIRE), then you can delete all of your Autoflagging Preferences, or disable all Autoflagging Conditions.

user435118
@Makyen I do still want flags through FIRE (since I’m responsible for my flags) but have turned deleted all my conditions
@Makyen On privileges wiki page it says that db dumps are Core only (?) I suppose that should be public?
user435118
@Makyen If there is any point in retaining Core privileges without autoflags and that would be allowed I would be open to considering that
@Daniil It depends on how you view the Core role. If the reason for you to have Core is to get more autoflags and you don't want autoflags, then there isn't much reason to have it.
user435118
22:25
@Makyen Do you think there is much reason apart from that? Btw do I sill have blacklisting privileges?
@Daniil Yes. Yes. From my point of view, the choice to autoflag or not is, to a large extent, orthogonal to having the Core role.

Just looking through the SQL data and saw a user has had autoflags on a site they mod (probably before they became a mod) but I didn’t know how to modify to include last flag
user435118
So everything’s fine :)
23:27
@Daniil got a link?
user435118
@ArtOfCode To what?
@Daniil where this happened - are you using a data explorer query here?
[ metasmoke ] ci/circleci success on bd76e38: Your tests passed on CircleCI!
user435118
Can we have a “handled” review queue on MS? Marking something as handled would mean checking for anything in the posts that need watching, checking to see if any linked domains qualify for a blacklist and tagging those domains...
23:33
@Daniil It's clear how to get them out of the queue. What criteria is used to put them into the queue? Are we just putting all posts into that queue?
user435118
@Makyen I guess all posts with tp/tpu feedback or no feedback?
@Daniil I'd guess that most of that activity happens as part of the post getting feedback from in-chat SD reports.
user435118
23:36
@Makyen Quite a few are missed though (as seen by your watching checks yesterday)
@Daniil which user are we looking at
user435118
@ArtOfCode Any user who is a mod anywhere :P
@Daniil which one did you notice it on?
@Daniil Yes, but that's part of a normal review of the post, if the person doing that review does such things. In general, that's usually accomplished by the time there are two feedbacks, but not always.
user435118
@ArtOfCode Several: DavidPostill, Glorfindel
user435118
23:40
@Makyen Can the MS no-feedback review queue be wiped please?
user435118
No-ones ever going to get through that...
@Daniil that sounds okay, in that case - they both gained mod sites after they signed up for autoflagging, I happen to know
@Daniil We might, but that's a bigger discussion. I don't see how doing a one-time wipe actually helps.
@Makyen Just let any post not deleted in 7 days and no tp review marked as fp
And potentially let it go over a simple ml filter
23:46
@user12986714 I don't really see that as helpful. I'd rather they remain unclassified.
@Makyen As if the post is tp it should have been deleted...
To keep the queue short
user435118
@Makyen Because then there’s a point of starting to go through the queue. I’m personally more inclined to go to a queue with 50 items compared to 19,000 items
@user12986714 Often that happens, but not always. Sometimes we find spam that's been on the site for years.
@Daniil I... may have a solution to this

@Daniil That sounds like a presentation issue. Maybe we should just show "many" to everyone, except admins. Or make it such that you really have to look for it to find the number.
@Makyen And tell user "The queue is cleared!" :-P
user435118
@ArtOfCode I’m all ears
[ metasmoke ] ci/circleci: rails-tests failure on 88b6421: Your tests failed on CircleCI
@user12986714 Well, we probably don't want to do that. We have had at least one person do a large number of reviews in a day (e.g. >1000, IIRC).
@Daniil I'm working on it
23:52
[ metasmoke-deploy ] deploy started by ArtOfCode
@SmokeDetector 19941 items awaiting for review
@SmokeDetector Neat! A double-random failure. I haven't see that before.
@SmokeDetector But, when the user realized that 50+ == 19941 the user will be severely demotivated in reviewing those posts...
user435118
@ArtOfCode I hope there’s more than changing 19... to 50+...
nope
people are fickle
user435118
23:58
sigh
and I'm being cynical about psychology :P
@ArtOfCode Mine still 19941
user435118
Ill be staying away from the ‘deceitful’ review queue for a LONG time then
that'll be because it hasn't deployed yet
@SmokeDetector Huh?
That one line diff shouldn't be hard to deploy
