@tripleee Umm, I think Coral is on 3.8, but Sandy should be on 3.7
Checked. Coral Cove is on 3.8.0 (Docker) and Sandy Shores is on 3.7.4 (still Docker)
@tripleee Well it says 3.8 it will stop working meaning it's still working for now. Better fix that soon.
@tripleee Also, the path suggests the error message comes from a macOS instance, not Linux.

mmm yeah, probably the yaml module rather than Smokey itself

2:38 PM
CI on d9c6bd5 succeeded.

I've got a Python 3.8 environment spun up on my workstation. Will try to fix the most noticeable problems

The latest version pf PyYAML doesn't report that warning, maybe that macOS has an outdated version of the module?

fp- feedback received

@iBug yeh, it was probably installed several years ago ... sorry for the false alarm
though I guess we should require a new enough version to make sure it stays compatible?

2:48 PM
Should anything go wrong with an instance, just ping its owner. I don't think we need to enforce this in any way.
Ran Smokey with Python 3.8 for a few minutes, didn't spot anything wrong except the one I just fixed above.

ISTR there is a syntax for versioned depends which lets you say things like install_requires = ['pyyaml>=x.y' if py3.8] (don't recall the exact format though)

vicxtor I have a question about my Stack Overflow post: How to perform Auto crop for document Recognize image using camera? I made sure that the answer was helpful and added a disclaimer to a conflict of interest. I understand if this is against the site policy. Thanks.

Use GitHub Actions for CI?
(Going to sleep now, can't stay up to 3:50 AM every day) will check back and possibly fire up a PR if received positive response.

@iBug If you want to work on something, that's great! Is there something wrong/inadequate with what we have now? Is there some additional feature/functionality you're wanting to have? I don't want to imply anything negative. I'm just interested in what you see using it for.
Get some good rest.

He's starting a new website: YouBug

For instance, a feature we could add is testing on other OSes other than Linux. The CI services we currently use either don't support all the architectures/OSes which GitHub Actions state are supported, or they charge money for other architectures/OSes.

@EliahKagan thanks for the report again ... I suppose we should give you the necessary privileges if you are willing to sign up for a metasmoke account?

@tripleee Yes, that's a good idea. I've been meaning to read the materials on that and ask for privileges, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm willing to make a metasmoke account. Regarding that particular post, there was something I wanted to ask.
In this case I might have used !!/scan even if I were able to use !!/report. I do think that qualifies for a red flag, but I wanted to check with others before assuming so. It's at least NAA. It might be a genuine attempt to tell people about the rules of a contest that the OP is, or is assumed to be, participating in.
But (a) the answer author has claimed an affiliation with the contest while making no information available that would facilitate checking that alleged affiliation, which is especially bizarre for a security-related contest, and
(b) whatever the contest's rules are, most members of the Ask Ubuntu community as well as the community as a whole have not agreed to those rules and are not bound by them, and an "answer" posted with the intention of interfering with or intimidating people who are interested in asking and answering questions is unacceptable, in the same way as (but to an even greater extent than) an answer consisting of deliberate nonsense (e.g., repeated punctuation) is unacceptable.

@EliahKagan oh yes, that should probably be NAA, I was probably too quick to flag it as spam
we don't generally look for NAA posts so reporting it here may be superfluous; just flag for mod attention on your site

Yeah, I was wondering if anything in the post would trigger a detection for other reasons. It seems not.

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Mostly punctuation marks in answer (36): How to read object with forEach correctly by Martynas Gecas on stackoverflow.com

I do consider the post an abuse of our site, and I did red-flag it myself. I'm not 100% everyone would agree with me. (It's at least a misuse, but that's not inherently red-flaggable.) Also, my guess is that the domain shouldn't be watched at this time. Sorry I didn't clarify this at the time I used the !!/scan command. Since I usually use !!/scan under situation where I would use !!/report if privileged, I can see the confusion that may have resulted from this.

that's a tacky competition if I ever saw one - I can hardly believe even the Russians would use that kind of language to recruit nationalist troll volunteers
@EliahKagan yeah, absolutely red-flaggable, but not actually spam
!!/unwatch uscyberpatriot\.org

Okay. I guess I should've used r/a instead of spam. I'll see how my flag fares.
