@Undo It looks like link_type=onsite doesn't play well with chatroom feeds. Looks like it's because it's using a protocol-relative link
I've left a note on the GitHub issue you opened a few days ago. Might be worth having it as a separate issue, since the feed does actually work.. but I'll leave that up to you
I wonder if the bad ASN for host should be ignored for domains tagged as notspam? That last one was for docs.swift.org which is an official Apple domain.
@PeterJ SD doesn't know anything about the tags applied to domains. That's a MS thing. We'll probably add a list of excluded domains to that reason, but it hasn't been written yet.
Another possibility for the reason for at least some of these grace period edits is that spammers are adding their links as HTML with a syntax that SE strips out. The spammer then has to edit the post in order for the link to be displayed.

@Makyen While I didn't on that particular post often I press the edit button on those "almost certainly spam" posts to see if there's hidden markup and about 95% of the time there isn't. I think it's only stripped when viewing and the edit view always shows what was actually posted?
@PeterJ Yes, the edit view shows what was actually entered by the OP, with HTML tags that are not permitted being stripped prior to being rendered. The original Markdown is also available from the SE API, but SD uses the rendered HTML (from the SE API).
@tripleee When I pinged you in Charcoal Test your Avatar didn't show up, as it did here when writing this message. Makyen also pinged you there a while ago to alert you that Halflife is down. I hope this isn't a double (triple) ping.
Check out this late answer: https://diy.stackexchange.com/a/158011/27773
It's posted by "John - Watco Rep": https://diy.stackexchange.com/users/97374/jon-watco-rep
The answer suggests A Watco Universal NuFiT, and includes a link to a Watco "Universal Sell Sheet" for the product.
Is this approp...
@Rob sorry I've been away from chat for a bit ... had to focus at work
Halflife was having problems already a couple of weeks ago, I don't think it can be trivially resurrected until I have had a look at what exactly stopped working
@tripleee I'd have to check. The regex search API was definitely active after that. It was working at least up to 2019-02-09. I'd have to dig for when it was actually shut off.
@ThomasWard Yeah, it'd be nice if we could track that down and fix it, or at least recover from the issue in a time-frame that keeps the instance active.
This time it appeared to affect all instances, rather than just Solar and Lunar. I didn't see anything in the output from my instance, but I was running at --loglevel=warning, so wasn't getting as much output.
@Makyen if it's close to 6 hours then or in the 3+ hours category I'd assume then that the autoreboot refreshed the conns and they all started reporting again because of it.
unless it was 'down' in that the MS pings weren't happening?

@ThomasWard Yes, all instances went down with no MS pings. I restarted mine as soon as I noticed, but Solar, Lunar, and @NobodyNada's instance were all down for some time, without MS pings.
@ProcessedMeat @Machavity this is a meta post about so personally waiting to see what the community says there. It is spammy, as username disclosure is not enough, but the community may say otherwise
@Machavity By SE definitions, it's spam due to undisclosed affiliation, which must be in the actual post, not just username or in the profile. However, for posts that have content that's not just promotion, I'd normally handle it with just a comment (added) and revisit later to see if they add disclosure. If they don't add disclosure within a reasonable time (a day, or two), I might take additional steps, depending on content and how clear the affiliation is.

@SmokeDetector While this post looks like it might be independently helpful, the domain has been used in 3 posts in the last day that appear to have the intent to drive traffic to the site. The domain name appears to have been chosen to be something that might be confused for official support by HP. The user has used two different accounts to post answers linking to this domain, today. The user's profile picture is an advertisement in itself. They appear to be here to promote.
@SmokeDetector With the link to the site, and, frankly, the type of service the site sells (dissertation writing), this looks like spam. Without the link, this might be a (poor) answer, but frankly, it appears that they're here primarily to promote their site.
@Makyen That pattern looks like it's already caught by Pattern-matching website in answer and Pattern-matching website in body; append -force if you really want to do that.
@Machavity Yeah, I'm not thrilled with the OP's answer and almost went with the stronger-worded version of my "needs disclosure" comment. But, it did at least appear to address the issue the question OP is having, even though it fails to address the actual question.
