@Makyen The CPU credit for t2.micro only supports 10% usage in the long run, while an active Smokey takes 15% to 20% on average, according to my monitoring.

I found no links on any of the sites directly to the Google Play Store or mention of httpdownloader from him. That URL is not an affiliate link and white it might be categorically a 'tracking URL' it redirects off of his own site - someone doesn't pay him when we click. Still, he should link directly, but that's not for us on this end, it's the site's job (end). Your options are to comment (someone did already), simply downvote

(secretly or with a comment), or custom Mod flag it.

@Makyen I'm on AWS Free Tier now so I have only t2.micro. When that ends I'll probably opt-in for a t3.micro, which offers 2x as much CPU credits and can (theoretically) run full Smokey with zero throttling.

Still, the ideal option is a CPU-unlimited host like Linode or DigitalOcean, so both AWS and M$ Azure are out.

@iBug Yeah, it looked like t3.micro was the way to go for that ballpark performance. It's actually less expensive than the t2.micro, but, as you said, has double the CPU capability, credits, and baseline (10%, but on each of 2 vCPU). Alternately, just run it on a virtual machine on some old hardware that's sitting around unused. I'd actually have to see if the electricity cost was more than the t3.micro cost per month (assuming no need to pay for CPU credits).

@thesecretmaster I'm hoping to work on it more this weekend. I played around with GraphiQL to the point of having a posts query with variables for urls, uids, ids, etc., which obtained data similar to what's available from the multiple v2 API endpoints my version of FIRE uses. I should be able to use GraphQL from there.

I'm going to need to massage the data a bit to put it into the exact format which is used on the v2 APIs, but that's expected. The need to massage it is due to A) the code is already written for it in that format. B) the newer WebSocket connections, which FIRE will also use, deliver data in formats similar to the v2 APIs. I haven't yet taken a detailed look at it wrt. determining differences, but did notice some.

The main difference I noticed is the v2 APIs split the flag logs between autoflags and manual flags, which is easily done on my end.

I'm actually not sure which direction I'm going to go wrt. using the GraphQL format or the v2 API format, as the plan is to completely reorganize how FIRE stores data for posts. Reorganizing how the data is stored is necessary in order to solve other issues.

@thesecretmaster OK. I'm unsure which is "better". GraphQL feels more like a database query than what's received from the v2 APIs. That's probably a good thing. OTOH, there are advantages to everything being a consistent format. The main difference I've seen is splitting the flag_logs into having autoflagged be an Object that contains a Boolean flagged and a list of users and manual_flags with a list of users.
