@DManokhin Is there a box that you can tick on metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/flagging/preferences?
user381237

user381237

user381237

@DManokhin "Flagging & You" should now be showing "0 flags used today", that right?
@thesecretmaster Heh. I say that a lot at work. It sucks when it'd my job to lead the testing and I still have to say that.

@CalvT @ArtOfCode Someone has deleted my flag in the logs or I would add a comment to the mail that Art sent me. My flag was not "wrong", if I should be prepared to defend the correctness of my flags and 'do the right thing' should there be a log entry explaining the deletion?
Rob
Rob
@Undo can you or I edit your answer to explain that you want CHQ users to use "tpu-" for cases where "naa-" might otherwise have been used ?
@Rob No, because that is not a Charcoal answer.
Rob
Rob
OK. CalvT and I had a conversation earlier where I was told that the answer was authoritative (see my comment four up from here) and I noticed that the logs had been deleted/ edited spoiling a comment that I was going to make on Art's bug.
CalvT complained that I had flagged incorrectly.
@Rob You have a fundamental misunderstanding here. No one 'deleted' or 'edited' anything in FlagLogs
That view shows only autoflags.
Rob
Rob
My flag is "gone".
ok, auto
20:49
Which was okay for years, and apparently has suddenly caused a swath of misunderstandings in the last week or so.
Rob
Rob
Makyen and I along with Art had a conversation earlier that sometimes an "empty flag" shows up and we can access the entries but there's nothing there - that I can add to (the weirdness of) Art's bug.
not a bug, I know exactly what's happening there and it's desired. Haven't had time to write anything about it
We might want to make it work some other way, but it's doing exactly what it's supposed to right now

Let @Art handle it.

@Undo I am letting @ArtOfCode handle it, it is on the to-do list (for fixing).
Are you saying "that is how Rails works, tough and involved to fix"?
Unfortunately, now I must be afk. Back to finish conversation, and will check pings.

@Rob look... this whole thing is a community project where everyone is a volunteer. Nobody gets paid to do this. The result of that is that our stuff reflects that; there are quite often a bunch of minor bugs, especially in metasmoke which has a smaller dev team.

Do we try to make things bug-free and as good as we can get 'em? Yeah, totally. Of course we do. Do we succeed? Noooope. That's something you kinda need to have an implicit acceptance of and ability to work with here. The reality is that things take a while to get fixed sometimes, and that's okay.

OK. I sometimes read something and reread it differently after a few times, then wonder how I missed something. I don't need hard feelings or to have ten minute conversations while holding a magnifying glass to my phone. I'm looking forward to a larger screen and less stressful conditions. Sorry if I seem terse or unclear at times.
@Rob With respect to NAA feedback vs. tp/tpu feedback to the post containing garbage. It's important to remember feedback != flagging. While they are closely related, feedback provided to SD/MS does not directly equate to the flags you choose to raise, if any. The reference for SD/MS feedback is Feedback Guidance. I realized this type of content wasn't covered and added a section for it.
Rob
Rob
Thanks, I'll set aside time to read that in one hour as I'm afk in a couple of minutes.
I sometimes flag differently on the site and am willing to take my lumps with the Moderator (and my excellent flagging ratio) or with the CMs if I can't explain what I do there.

@iBug AFAIK, you're running your SD instance on an EC2 instance. I'm not sure from searching, but are you running on a t2.micro? Some of your chat messages indicate that t2.micro doesn't really have the capability to run SD at this point, at least not long term, but there was also indication that you may have resolved that. If it's "not long term", did that mean that it couldn't be the active instance continuously, or that it couldn't be a standby instance continuously?
