@NobodyNada You sure you have the chat sounds turned on?

@Ferrybig I just found out it was because of Safari's auto-playing media blocker.

@NobodyNada For me, the sound only came when I clicked on this tab, maybe there is a bug

6:15 PM
@Ferrybig I'm guessing your browser probably put that tab "in sleep mode" or something
I had to go into Safari preferences->Websites->Auto-Play and set chat.SO and chat.SE to "Allow All Auto-Play"

@NobodyNada FOr that reply, the sound worked correctly, maybe the first one was a bit delayed for me because it still had to load the sound

@Ferrybig How many tabs do you have open? Is it possible your browser suspended the tab?

@NobodyNada at the moment I only had 5 tabs open, usually, it's far more, for the first notification I got the small popup window quickly, but the sound late, but for others the notification and sound are in sync

Ah, then your loading time idea makes sense. (What "small popup window" are you referring to?)

@NobodyNada I'm not sure whether or not I should be thankful that I know what lies beyond that link

Ugh, he's back

What do you think about watching the username? I'm going to do a couple of MS and SE searches to make sure it's not used legitimately

@DJMcMayhem :( I thought we were friends

@Mego This is at least the fourth account this guy's made

(I know - the joke was that I interpreted it to mean me instead of the user)

He just keeps on linking to that particular site and porn hub. As well as plagiarising other answers
It's getting really obnoxious.
@Mego I figured :P

Can't find any instances of that username being used legitimately, although there are 2 instances where it's used in a post body.

So blacklist it for usernames instead
Also, make sure to do don(\s*j)\?\s*trump instead of just don trump

yeah. I'm trying to decide whether that's a good idea, since he's used other usernames

7:23 PM
Yeah, I don't know

@DJMcMayhem Looks like he used "donald j trump", not "don j trump", which I'm more hesitant to blacklist since I can imagine legitimate users with that name
SO has 11 users named "Donald Trump," all with very little activity, so we may be able to get away with blacklisting that username

There's also 1 Brandon trumpold

Or don(ald)?(\s*j)?\s*trump

If there's a username watchlist, maybe use that

@Mego Start golfing in regex. Then you'll never forget them again :P

Don't think there is, though. Just don't want it to be skewed as a political position

Anonymous
@Undo We have plenty of evidence to prove that it's not a political matter. If people refuse to accept the evidence, then that's their problem.

Anonymous
7:28 PM
@DJMcMayhem ^don(ald\s*j?)?\s*trump$

Anyone understand the "experimental" reason system? If so, I think we should make it an experimental reason so it doesn't get autoflag weight, at least for now

@Mego OK, if you're gonna go there, the shorter way to do it in V is: ^don¨aldó*j¿©¿ó*trump$ :P

Anonymous
@DJMcMayhem But it has to be a regex, for the watchlist :P

That is a regex

Anonymous
Not one that Smokey can parse

7:36 PM
This logic seems backwards to me; what am I missing? From line 145 of spam handling.py:
if set(reasons) & GlobalVars.experimental_reasons == {}:
    chatcommunicate.tell_rooms(message, ("experimental",),
                               without_roles, notify_site=post.post_site, report_data=(post_url, poster_url))
else:
    chatcommunicate.tell_rooms(message, ("all", "site-" + post.post_site),
                               without_roles, notify_site=post.post_site, report_data=(post_url, poster_url))
Doesn't it enter the first block if reasons and experimental_reasons have no elements in common?
Wait, does that even work? {} is a dictionary literal, not a set literal, so the if statement will never be true

@NobodyNada just tested, you're right
== set() would be "equal to empty set"
but also looks like that should be if len(set(reasons) & GlobalVars.experimental_reasons) > 0

And it looks like experimental reasons are reported in SOBotics, which doesn't have the experimental flag: chat.stackoverflow.com/…

@quartata found the experimental bug ^

For some reason there are no instances of experimental reasons reported in SOCVR: chat.stackoverflow.com/…
Oh, it looks like SD messages are moved to the SOCVR request graveyard: chat.stackoverflow.com/…

7:56 PM
@ArtOfCode that would be @tripleee's fault then, pretty sure it was always like that
The intersection is correct though
actually
Huh

!!/blame᠎ ‍᠎⁣᠎

@Glorfindel It's tripleee's fault.

Before NG, the check was if set(reasons).intersection(GlobalVars.experimental_reasons) != set(reasons):

@quartata It doesn't matter whose fault it is, just that it's a bug

This should never have worked

7:57 PM
and someone gonna need to fix it - I can't at the moment, I pinged you because as far as I know you're the most familiar with that code

@ArtOfCode no I just mean it would be nice if they would explain because it's their logic
@NobodyNada huh
Ohhhh I get it

@quartata prolly easier to say that - saying it's someone's fault has that ole tendency to put 'em on the defensive

The current behavior is correct
Bar the set literal

Looks like it posts to CHQ, and if that check comes out true, it posts to other rooms as well
@quartata I think it's inverted, but I may be wrong

It should only enter the experimental branch if there are no non-experimental reasons
Hence the intersection

8:00 PM
@quartata Then don't we need a subtraction instead of an intersection?
set(reasons) & GlobalVars.experimental_reasons == members of both

Er yes
Relative complement

So...I think we want to do if set(reasons) - GlobalVars.experimental_reasons == set(): # post to experimental rooms

Yeah
Thanks
I must have done that

Shall I make a PR, or are you on it?

@NobodyNada We're getting there. Currently, SD reports & feedback are spread over SOCVR, SOCVR Request Graveyard and SOCVR Sanitarium. My plan is to consolidate them into the Graveyard. The archiver script is at the point where that's now a reasonable task (i.e. it's only 20, or so, moves instead of 400 for SOCVR➞Graveyard). New, completed reports are moved to the Graveyard.

Something interesting I remembered while going through that code is that technically NG can send notifications on anything
Would there be interest in allowing notifications on CI status or pulls? It'd be a one liner

9:13 PM
may as well enable it, people can decide if they want 'em after that

@DavidPostill you're quick, just about to flag this. Held in less then 1 min :)

@ArtOfCode I can enable it on literally any message, is there anything else?
Failovers?

Yeah
conflicting feedback notifications, potentially
anything that it might be useful to be notified of

Can't do it on that without enabling it for all Metasmoke messages
which would include feedbacks
Failover is separate though
(not from actioncable)

There you go

Splitting donations to x amount for 5 people and y amount for "everyone else" is surprisingly difficult to calculate

why are we "splitting" donation amounts to different users?

Anonymous
10:00 PM
@quartata You didn't do !!/pull on Supernova, so it didn't ping you

@WELZ covering costs

@ArtOfCode whoever it needs to cover should be deducted and the remainder can go towards everyone else (am I missing something?)

i.e. sum up what donations we have, subtract whatever it costs to send free stickers to however many people we're sending free stickers to, then split the rest across everyone else's costs
@WELZ yeah, split, deduct, whatever the word is :)

Anonymous
Give Art a break - it's not his fault that he uses the wrong English :P

I can do English, me

10:02 PM
[donations] - ([total payment] * [amount of users to cover])

@Mego plus it didn't have the same notification ljst

@WELZ "total payment"? Is that cost per user?

It worked on solar flare, that's what I was testing

divide remainder by amount of paying users and deduct that from everyone else.

Anonymous
@quartata Oh right, we still don't sync notification lists

10:03 PM
@ArtOfCode before donations, yes

Hmm should standby and failover be separate notifications
Probably

more like
([total costs] - [total donations]) / [total paying users]
But that's not quite as complex as it actually is.

!!/notify 11540 /standby

@quartata You'll now get pings from me if I report a post on /standby, in room 11540 on chat.stackexchange.com

@WELZ I want to believe that would work

10:05 PM
I Think.... @ArtOfCode the key is that the covering users, are covered the amount before we take off for donations. only then can you take off from everyone else... otherwise you're gonna really confuse yourself.

Oh, hrmmm... standby is tougher

@WELZ Yeah, I've done that - but there are still several other stages and at least one estimate

so take off $5 from donations for "safety" of rounding and estimating lol

@ArtOfCode you know that you're probably just going to end up with a bunch of extra money, anyway :P

Anonymous
@WELZ The problem with that is, Art has legal headaches if there's leftover money

10:08 PM
@WELZ Yeah, that math doesn't work. Pretty sure I tried that way first time round, and that's why I was short - calculating it right now leaves me 11.97 short
@Mego mostly not legal headaches (might be one or two), but just ethical issues here
it's technically Charcoal money, so I can't spend it myself; given that it's Charcoal money, who do I give it to, when, and for what, and what records of it should I keep?

Anonymous
