@Ferrybig I just found out it was because of Safari's auto-playing media blocker.

@NobodyNada For me, the sound only came when I clicked on this tab, maybe there is a bug

@Ferrybig I'm guessing your browser probably put that tab "in sleep mode" or something

I had to go into Safari preferences->Websites->Auto-Play and set chat.SO and chat.SE to "Allow All Auto-Play"

@NobodyNada FOr that reply, the sound worked correctly, maybe the first one was a bit delayed for me because it still had to load the sound

@Ferrybig How many tabs do you have open? Is it possible your browser suspended the tab?

@NobodyNada at the moment I only had 5 tabs open, usually, it's far more, for the first notification I got the small popup window quickly, but the sound late, but for others the notification and sound are in sync

Ah, then your loading time idea makes sense. (What "small popup window" are you referring to?)

@DJMcMayhem Looks like he used "donald j trump", not "don j trump", which I'm more hesitant to blacklist since I can imagine legitimate users with that name

SO has 11 users named "Donald Trump," all with very little activity, so we may be able to get away with blacklisting that username

There's also 1 Brandon trumpold

This logic seems backwards to me; what am I missing? From line 145 of spam handling.py:

Wait, does that even work? {} is a dictionary literal, not a set literal, so the if statement will never be true

but also looks like that should be if len(set(reasons) & GlobalVars.experimental_reasons) > 0

And it looks like experimental reasons are reported in SOBotics, which doesn't have the experimental flag: chat.stackoverflow.com/…
